Monday, August 12th.
I open my eyes and stare above me, rewinding the memory over and over again in my head like a movie. The way she laughed, the way her soft skin shimmered in the sun, her blonde hair flying behind her like a cape when she ran across the yard. I swear I must have memorized every inch and curvature on her body just within the first five minutes of laying my eyes on her. God, she's beautiful. Not in the lustful way, but in the "I think I could marry you and make sweet love to you every night under the stars" way. Am I making sense? I doubt it. But I couldn't help myself from imagining every possible scenario anyways. The worst part? I haven't even talked to her yet, I didn't even know her name. Shit, what did Renee say her name was? With that un answered question in my mind, I throw off my blankets and scramble out of bed. It was only 7:16 in the morning but this was dire. I need to know, now. As I rushed out of my room and down the hall to my mother's, I hurriedly knock on the door. Come on Mom! This is important! I mentally yell. With no answer, I knock again, a bit louder this time. I hear a small groan coming from the other side of the door, yes!
"Jack? Is that you?" her voice is groggy and still full of sleep but that was irrelevant to me at the moment.
"Mom, I need to ask you something." My voice on the other hand, was full of desperation.
"Jack, open the door," I take no time to do as she said and sit down on the edge of her bed. "Baby, what's wrong? Is everything okay?" she's more awake this time, her voice laced with concern.
"Yesterday we were talking about the new neighbors. What was the girls name? What did you say her name was?" I was practically stumbling over my words.
"Oh my gosh Jack! You woke me up at," she looks over at her nightstand, "7:20 in the morning to ask me about a girl's name? Are you insane?" pushing me, she lays back down and rolls over onto her side. What a hypocrite!
"Mom, you wake me up for irrelevant bullshit all the time. This is actually important." Sighing, she turns back over and looks at me like I just asked her the most bizarre question in existence.
"Jack, I never caught her name. I only talked to her parents for a short amount of time." What the hell? You talked to her parents and didn't even bother to ask for the daughter's name? I let out a loud groan and fell back onto her bed. "Jackson, what's going on with you? First you say you want nothing to do with this girl and now you're stampeding into my room demanding to know what her name is."
"Nothing, nothing is going on. I just wanted to know if you knew or not, I'm sorry for bugging you." She's not just some girl, mom. She's the girl. The one who could change my entire life and you didn't even bother to ask for her name!
"Look, why don't you go back to bed or find something to preoccupy yourself with for a few hours and then we will go over and say hi." What are you, an imbecile?
"Dude, it's not that simple." I give another sigh and roll over onto my stomach.
"Look, dude, get out of my room and let me sleep. We'll discuss your mental break down after I've gotten some more sleep." In defeat, I slowly slump my way back to my room and look out the window. The sun was already starting to rise and I knew in a few hours she would be awake. Until then, I could lay in bed and just imagine how she looked while she slept.

"Jack! Breakfast!" I hear my mom yell from downstairs. I had been lying up in my bed for three hours now, waiting for her to tell me to get up. For only getting 4 hours of sleep the previous night, I was actually wide awake. Getting out of the confines of my room, I make my way towards the kitchen where pancakes and orange juice was spread out across the counter.
