Latvia's P.O.V!
Recently I have become an independent nation country known as Latvia. My country's native language is Latvian and I also have four neighboring countries: Russia, Estonia, Belarus and Lithuania, but I was mostly fond to Estonia and Lithuania.
We three were known as The Three Baltic Countries.
Before gaining independence we lived in Russia's mansion and at one point we served him as well, but mostly out of fear and if we did something wrong like accidentally dropping or breaking a dish, we would get a...punishment as teaching us a lesson. Those times were hard to live, but we eventually left and declared independence starting with Lithuania, ending with myself, because Estonia declared independence a day before me.
After gaining independence, we started to live in our own countries with our own residences, for example I wanted to stay practical and average by living in an average two floor house and sometimes I wish I had a mansion worth home, but didn't want to be recognized as a snobby country. Some countries like Russia, Japan, France, England, America and more could afford and have expensive mansions and as far as I know Russia does have an expensive mansion, because I lived there for more than fifty years, but I'm still a fifteen year old physically, but mentally I'm more than fifteen.
About Lithuania and Estonia, they don't share the same thoughts as I do, because Lithuania got himself a grand home that reminded me of a penthouse and I never really liked to live in a house with too much rooms, except if you often got visitors and they stayed overnight, but I was only fond to Lithuania, Estonia, Sealand and my superior, Riga.
Estonia lived in a similar home as Lithuania and I didn't ask why. If I ever asked Estonia or Lithuania about the point of owning a residence too big for you, then I probably wouldn't understand their reasoning or explanations of owning a residence with too much in it, so I never bothered to ask that ridiculous question I would want to know answer to.
At the moment I was managing the daily paperwork that came with independence. To most of the countries paperwork management was the worst chore to do, but to me was the easiest weekly chore, maintaining my country and it's people with my influence, culture and holidays was my nightmare chore. The paperwork was a two hour work for me, but for most countries, a four to five hour work. To many countries maintaining was a breeze, because they did it all the time, but didn't put as much effort as I did usually, or that's how I see it, making the maintaining really tiring. Well, I was known as a country to have a secret strength at getting the impossible done.
The evening came really slowly making the maintaining a little torturous, but I was really was glad at my work and I had barely any power to stand and even walk and I could collapse any moment, but I pulled it of.
I would have to visit Lithuania and Estonia this week, because we haven't met each other for quite some time, I think three months and I really started to miss them and if they didn't want to visit me, I would visit them. Tomorrow I will visit Estonia, but after tomorrow, Lithuania. Luckily it was summertime making it easier to travel or I would have have problems with the cold, but that's unlikely for a country or nation to happen. I looked around the house for a while to see if I didn't drop any paperwork during my day and luckily I found none, but this morning I did find a modest sized chest in the basement behind some old, dusty furniture while I was trying to clean and I wanted to check the content before bed and I went to my bedroom.
After a while I was in my favorite pajamas and it resembled my flag and got the chest by my bedside table since this morning. I sat down next to it and slowly opened it and my eyes widened by it's content.
The chest was fool with rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and more types of jewelry, but the most standing out were the two queen and king's crowns. They were rather flashy in looks and I that got me wondering who lived here before me. Maybe they were a fan of jewelry in general? Perhaps Riga knows something about this place, but right now, I was too tired and decided that it's best to retire for the night and investigate tomorrow.
Thank you for reading and see you next time! (I suppose)
