"Mom why do you and dad have to leave so early to San Francisco?" I whined while helping mom pack extra clothing.

"I already told you, your father has a very important business trip that has to be dealt with quickly." she responded.

"So? Why can't you stay? You know I go through a lot at school and I need you to comfort me." I said while making a pouty face.

"Well since this is your first time staying home alone for 3 weeks, I want to see if you can handle it. I trust you and if you can do this I will let you have 2 week sleepovers with Autumn and other mutual friend." she said while rolling another suitcase near me.

"Really!" I accidently knocked over a pile of folded clothing, while dancing with happiness.

I ran into my bedroom while yelling I'd finish help pack later. I quickly grabbed by phone and clicked Sister Alpaca on my contacts.(*cough* Yasminty *cough*) I called her and while I was waiting I decided to grab my laptop. When she picked up I heard a muffled whisper near my window. All I could make out was "He's coming". I quickly ended the phone call and ran downstairs.

For the rest of the day I helped mom pack.

Tomorrow my parents would leave and I'd be stuck at home for the next three weeks. I had forgotten the strange occurrence earlier. When I walked into my room I saw a bright light under the covers of my bed. I was so frightened I had to get my pet dog, Peanut. As I slowly stepped closer and closer near my bed, Peanut squirmed out of my grasp and scrambled towards my stuffed alpaca. I hesitated to rip the covers off my bed for a moment but I just did it.

I left my laptop on before and my phone got 5 missed calls and 2 texts from Sister Alpaca. As I was responding to Autumn's text, I glanced at my laptop and saw that someone recently searched "The Shadow of Danny." I dropped my phone with a gasp splattered on my face. It was a myth I never heard of. I read the information and learned quickly that a teen boy had died from a car accident with his mother. The myth was about a shadow-like boy roaming around River Ridge. People said he was an evil spirit torturing anyone who came in his way. I closed by laptop and quickly texted Autumn back. I drew the covers over my head and tried to forget about that incident.

Maybe I miss clicked something when I had ran out of my room. Yeah that's it. It has to be.
