Shadow Into Light

Chapter five

I woke up in the middle of the night with tears rolling down my cheeks.
It looks like I had took a small tumble off my bed. My knee was hurting really badly. Pain quickly engulfed my whole body and a massive headache erupted in my head.
As I staggered up to rapidly recover from my blunder, I noticed a faint shadow near my door. It look like the shape of a individual.
I didn't think too much off it since it could have been objects that were creating an image with luminous light.
I had left my lamp on that night so maybe it was that object that created such a shadow.
I shut off my lamp and stared at my ceiling to try and fall asleep. When I had crawled back into bed, I detected that the shadow was still in the same spot I had left it.
This struck me with terror, so I bundled myself in covers and hid beneath the covers.
Bringing this up, I don't understand why children hide under covers when they are in their slumber. Do they think that if they can't see the monsters, then the monsters can't see them? Is it like a safe area for them? I don't know, but I still do that so don't judge.
I had been like about 20 minutes with the covers over my head, so I decided to take a small peek and also, while I'm at it I'll take a little breather. I hugged
my stuffed llama, shoved the feathery and furry covers off my body and as I opened my eyes I realized it was morning.
Wow, it only seemed like 20 minutes, but in reality it had been an hour.
The shadow had disappeared from
earlier, but I still got eerie feelings.
Shìt.
It's 6:50 and I only have 20 minutes to get ready.
Last week of school.
