Stiles and Lydia went back out to the party, all perky and happy. until they saw people crowding around the stage. the best couple of the night banner had been taken down. a girl stood on the stage and looked at a piece of paper. and she read,"congratulations Stiles and Lydia! you're our best couple of the night, for sure! come on up!"
Lydia and Stiles panicked.
Stiles,"uh, we aren't a couple."
Scott,"you do know that we saw you kiss."
Lydia,"how exactly?"
Scott,"cameras."
Stiles,"oh god."
Lady,"come on up, Stiles and Lydia!"
Stiles and Lydia went up on the stage and received cheap, plastic crowns, but it was better than nothing at all.
Lady,"do you guys have anything to say?"
Stiles,"lemme just say. Lydia, I know we aren't together. I know you probably don't feel the same way. but I've had an amazing time tonight. thank you for dancing with me. and that kiss, it was magical."
Lydia,"I do feel the same way, Stiles. and I regret not saying anything to you for five years. it seems like we've picked up right where we left off. I wouldn't have spent this night with another human being. thank you."
