Chapter 12 – Kelsea’s POV
I followed Michael into the bedroom we were sharing. He went over to the bed and started grabbing two pillows off the bed and a throw blanket, dropping them onto the floor in front of the bed.
Just as he was about to sit down on the ground, my voice cracked. “What are you doing?!”
“Sleeping on the floor?” He replied, finally sitting down. He slowly moved to a lying position and put his hands behind his head.
“Why not sleep on the bed?”
“Wasn’t planning on freaking you out anymore than you probably already are,” he mumbled, moving to lie on his side, facing away from me. I just watched his chest rise and fall, probably close to sleep.
“Michael…” I started, my voice slow.
“Could you turn off the light while you’re up? Thanks,” he said, his voice raspy. I just sighed and flicked the switch, the moon suddenly becoming the only thing illuminating the room. I looked out the window, my eyes watching the waves crash along the beach one after another. The moon was high in the sky, beaming straight into the bedroom. It made me just think of a place that was far away and perfect; my happy place.
I sighed again. “Michael?” There was a gruff grumble in response. “I’m not freaked out.” I heard shuffling on the floor and his shadow popped up on the wall. I saw his figure strut over to the bedside that I wasn’t on, and gently sat down as to not disturb me. When I flipped over on my side to look at him, his back was faced away from me and he was on the edge of the bed. Why was he so far away from me? It was strange.
I slinked my hand out and touched his back gently. When my fingers collided with the skin of his bare back, he flinched as if I had just shocked him and dragged the blanket up around his body. I took my hand away from his back and laid it gently on top of the white comforter. “Why are you acting so different?” I sighed.
“What do you mean?” He whispered back, a second later.
“You’re just…not being yourself…how you used to act when we first met…why?” My arm that was placed on the comforter longed to reach over to him and throw itself over his side, cradling him, but my courageousness wasn’t at that level yet.
“I just don’t want you to be uncomfortable,” he whispered back, his voice muffled by the pillow. To be honest, those words broke my heart. It seemed like Michael was at the point on giving up on me, and that’s not what I wanted. It made me worried.
“Well, I’m cold so can I scoot closer to you?” I asked slowly, wanting to be closer to him. I saw his head nod up and down on the pillow case as I scooted closer to him. My legs brushed his gently, his legs going rigid for a second before relaxing. My one leg interwove with his and I cradled into his back, my arms making an x shape on my chest. I used his back as a head rest and laid my forehead in between the crooks of his shoulder blades, breathing in his scent heavily and then sighing.
“You don’t make me nervous anymore Michael.”

Grace’s POV
After changing into my pink pajama shorts and my Duck Dynasty tank top that I always wore to bed, I walked over to the window in the room and gazed at the moon that hung high in the sky; it was beautiful. The sound of waves crashing soothed me.
Suddenly, there were muffled footsteps behind me and I swiveled around to find Calum shirtless and wearing a pair of navy blue shorts. My jaw dropped open at how defined his muscles were on his chest.
“What are you doing?” I asked, taking my eyes away from his chest and back up to his face.
“What do you mean?” He asked, sliding into bed.
“You’re seriously not wearing a shirt? Are you trying to seduce me?” I asked, walking over to the light switch.
“Why is it working?” He smirked from his spot on the bed and laughed.
Shaking my head, I flicked the switch off. “Nope,” I replied, popping the p. I jumped onto the bed, hopping over Calum’s body in the process. I fluffed up the pillow and then laid down underneath the white comforter, turning to face him. He turned so he was lying on his side, his head facing me. His arms outstretched and embraced me, staying in that position before nuzzling into his pillow. “Goodnight Gracie,” he murmured.
“Whoa, calm down there cowboy. Somebody’s a little grabby,” I said, placing my hand on his chest and pushing him away.
“C’mon! I left my teddy bear at home, can I cuddle you instead?” He asked, raising himself up onto his elbow. I followed his movement.
I leaned into him and stayed there for a few seconds before whispering, “Bullshit.” He squinted his eyes at me as I fell back onto my pillow again, giggles escaping past my lips. All of a sudden, my pillow was taken out from underneath my head and he placed on top of the two pillows he already had. Before he could lay on top of the pillow, I stole it back from him and hit him across the head with it. He moved out of his position and grabbed his pillow, prepping it to hit me.
“No no no Calum. Didn’t mumma Hood teach you not to hit girls?” I taunted in a baby voice. He just fell back down into his position and I followed suit, my back now turned to him. Suddenly, the comforter that was draped across my side was torn off me, a gasp floating past my lips. I swiveled around saw Calum wrapped up in the huge comforter like a worm.
“Fine have it your way.” The nighttime chill that seeped through the window sent chills down my back as I got up off the bed and grabbed the light throw blanket that draped around the wooden chair that sat in the corner. I gently sat down on the bed and curled up into the fetal position, trying to drape the blanket over every inch of my body, but it wasn’t working out. A slight chatter of my teeth started as the coldness seeped through the blanket; I was uncomfortable. Fuck you Calum.
A rustling came from behind me and I was suddenly enveloped in white heavy fabric and the heat of a bare chest pressed to my back. His legs entangled with mine, playing footsie. His arm encircled my waist, bringing me closer to him. I felt his breath at the back of my neck, soothing me. I nuzzled my head into the pillow.
“If your dick touches me anytime in the night, I will make you sleep outside for the rest of the weekend,” I whispered into my pillow, threatening. His breath quickened on the back of my neck as he spoke.
“I’ll try to contain myself don’t worry,” he chuckled.
“You really should’ve worn a shirt,” I whispered, jokingly.
“You really should stop talking so much,” he breathed. I swiveled around in his hold, my face now square with his.
“I guess you’ll just have to find the one thing that shuts me up.”

Luke’s POV
“We need to get girlfriends,” I breathed from my place on the floor. Neither Ashton nor I ended up deciding who should get the bed so we both slept on the floor.
“Don’t lump me in with you, I have a girlfriend,” he breathed.
“The girl you talked to at KFC the other day doesn’t count.” Ashton grumbled into his pillow at my words and then everything went silent for a bit.
Just as I was about to fall asleep, Ashton spoke. “Hey Luke?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you maybe wanna cuddle a little?”
“No.”
“Ok, me neither…you sure?”
“Fuck off Ashton.”
“Okay.”
