Untold Tales

I look around in the blackness around me. "Dang it!" I try and say, but no sound comes out. What the. Well, times frozen now so that might have something to do with it. I look around again. One more time. I close my eyes and the dark begins to fade. The scenery clears as I open my eyes. I look around- what is now- the gym. The searing pain on my stomach is still there, but as I look around, I see Will in front of me and Jayden beside me. Good. Time resumed. "What the heck was that" Will says seeming scared. "Your eyes turned gray and then you just stood there. And everything around me froze."Nothing happened." I think I know why he saw eve- my thoughts are interrupted by a whistle, "Hamson, you okay?" I nod. "I'm okay" he blows the whistle and everyone continues to play. I walk to the bench and sit next to Jayden. "So, here's my question Froster. Do you know who did that?" He shakes his head "It wasn't Will though." He assures. "Then who did it?" I look out to where everyone is playing. I see a flash on red before it disappears again. "I know" I look at Jayden. "Someone with two abilities, like me. He is a vanisher and a pyrotechnic." Jayden's eyes widen. "Jesse." We both say. I look around and see another glimpse of red. "He hates me." I sigh Jayden looks at me confused "I refused to redo the timeline where his little sister died. The thing is, it was his fault." I feel a sudden pain on my shoulder and I see jesse's angry eyes staring at mine. The pain is countered by a sharp coolness. I see ice on my shoulder and Jesse's hand frozen to it. I grab Jesse's arm as he melts the ice and I push him away. "What do you want." I half yell. He growls "you know what I want." "You know I can't." He turns around and walks away. "You come and leave then come back again. I'm sorry Jesse. It's against my rules." I see fire flicker around his shoes "But it's okay to go back in time to redo what happened with him!" He points at Jayden. I walk up to him and grab his arm. I lean up to his ear "The world was almost destroyed. I had no choice but to. And what happened to lily was your fault. And you know it." I turn around and sit back down on the bench. A few people were staring at us three but I didn't pay attention to them. He only thing I could see was Jayden looking at me confused. "Gaia. What is he talking about. Why did you have to come back?" My jaw clenches. "How about I tell you at 3:30 sharp." I mimic him. Same tone and same time he said in the hallway, cold, dark, and unknowing. What I think is anger flashes through Jayden's eyes, but if he's angry with me, he doesn't show it. He simply nods and faces the game, which has been going on this whole time. As soon as I turn my attention away from Jayden and back to the game I feel my stomach and wrist scorching. My eyes burn and breath catches in my throat. I close my eyes and yell through my teeth. Jayden seems to hear the faint noise and looks at me with worry. "Gaia you okay?" I look at him. "Yeah, I'm okay" I lie unclenching my jaw and holding back the tears. "I'm just going to head to the nurse. My wrist is hurting a little" I force a smile. "See you in the next class?" He ask and I nod. I walk to the gym doors and wince as I step.

I sit on the cold Chair in the nurses office with my stomach and wrist wrapped up. Ice is pressed against my stomach, subsiding the pain. I look at the clock and the bell rings again. "Holy crap! I missed science!" I get up as soon as the nurse walks in. "Your not going anywhere." She says and pushes me back down in the seat. "C'mon! Social studies is literally sitting down and taking notes!" I whine. "Yes, but you are right handed, correct?" She ask and I sigh. "Yeah." I look down at my right hand covered in a wrap. "Can I at least  go sit in class?" She sighs. "Fine! Go! Go to class!" I smile and and get up. I keep the ice to my stomach as I walk but I still wince. I open the door slowly and the only one that turns towards me is Jayden. He smiles and I walk in and take a seat next to him. "what are we doing?" I ask him. " I just finished taking notes. I'm just waiting for class to end now." He shrugs.  I feel ice shoot up my wrist and stomach. "Thanks" I smile. "SOO... What did happen with me. Why did you have to travel back? Why Gaia? What was so bad that you have to come back to freshman year?" I grimace. "How about we save that story for later." I force a smile. So many untold tales. So many resurfaced memories. I rewinded it all as it happened. And now, with everything back to 'normal' he's remembering more and more. I sigh. "Later" I promise. He nods. "Later." I almost don't hear the bell ring. When I do I jump up, startled, and pain shoots through my stomach. I groan and sit back down. "Hey, Jayden. Can you help me home? I'm not sure if I'll be able to get there by myself." I look at him pleadingly. He nods. "Thanks" I say in relief. He grabs my arm. "No 3:30. I know enough for today." I nod. "Later" we say at the same time and I smile. I think that's going to be a word used a lot between us.
