The unwanted child

ON THE OTHER ROOM….. (At hospital)

“A healthy boy! Congrats! “A doctor announced happily.

A woman opened her eyes breathing heavily from exhaustion when she heard the doctors announcement her eyes wonders looking for someone’s presence , she got up even though feeling the pain from giving birth she asked “ Where’s mike? Where is he?” She waited but no one answered her.

“If no one will answer me I’ll look for him!” She got out from the bed and trying to remove all wires attached to her when a doctor held her arm.

 “Mrs. Grant! Calm down! Your operation just ended! Don’t move too much!” The doctor screech trying to get a hold of Mrs. Grant.

“Where’s my husband?! Can someone answer me?!” she begs.

“He didn’t come! “A girl stated at the door wearing gray sweater that reached her mid-thigh, a pair of black jeans and a black boots.

FLASHBACK…….

 9 months ago…..

A woman turbulently opened the door of someone’s apartment...

“Mike! Mike!” Vanessa shriek looking for Mike in panic when she noticed someone on the sofa. She approached and found mike sleeping she woke him up “What’s the problem?!” Mike murmured and still yawning.

“I’m pregnant! What should we do?!” Vanessa told terrified and scared.

Mike startled by her announcement embraced Vanessa tightly “Of course! Keep it!”

“Weren’t you angry?! You’re leaving tomorrow right?” Vanessa asked clutching Mike’s shoulder.

Mike noticed Vanessa’s trembling hands and held it “I can’t leave anymore! Can I! You and my child is more important that taking over a company abroad!”

Vanessa out of confidence asked again “Are you sure?!”

Mike pinches her nose “Of course! Dummy!” He reassures her.

During her pregnancy Mike gave her all things she needed he even bought a house at the hillside that Vanessa wanted so much. She forced Mike to take the company and told him it’s for their baby’s sake, he agreed happily and flew over America, he still visits her weekly but then months passed he’s visits decreased . She thought  he was too busy to even visit her so she didn’t bother, but when her due date is getting nearer she tried to calling him few times but a operator always answering her so she stop. A lot of things swarmed at her mind Is he abandoning me! No! No! Mike will not do that to me! He loves the baby and me! But then she decided to stay positive.

After a week…..

“Help! Sam! Help!” Vanessa screamed.

Sam came in immediately and asked “What is it?!”

“ I-I----think my water broke!?” Vanessa declared doubted.

“Whaat!!!? Aren’t you still a week or so too early?” Sam stunned and asked.

“B-But it broke the baby’s ready to come out!”Vanessa said in panic “Oh no! Mike is not here!”

“Wait here! I’ll get the car!” Sam told her, she sprinted to get the car, parked it near the door and helped Vanessa to get inside the car “Call him! “ Vanessa commanded.

Sam nodded her head and dialed his number.

They finally arrived at the hospital. Nurses and doctors helped Vanessa on a stretcher and rolled her away. Sam held her hand “Have you called him?!” she said panicking.

“He’ll be here soon!” Sam said trying to keep her calm. Vanessa smiled weakly and nodded her head. She let out a scream and gripped Sam’s hand.

END OF FLASHBACK….

“What!? It can’t be! That’s not true!” Vanessa wailed “Let me go!” she shouted when she felt the doctors weren’t planning on letting her go.

“Vanessa! Stop! Mike already left you!” Sam yelled angrily.

“He promised me that he will never leave me! Now that we have a child!” Vanessa out cried when….      A nurse came in with a baby all cleaned and neatly in a blanket “Here’s the baby! Doc!”

“Mrs. Grant! Here’s your baby!”The doctor told her and thought that it’s a good idea to calm her down but the opposite happened…

“Put that thing away from me!”Vanessa shouted seeing the baby. The nurse was astounded by her sudden remark but then decided to ask her again “But it’s your baby!”while reaching out the baby to her.

“I don’t have a baby anymore!” Vanessa declared, she pushed the nurse away from her. Sam picked the baby from the nurse when it cried” Shut up! Make that thing stop!” She shouted plugging her ears with her hands .

Vanessa continued on struggling when she felt a sting on her arm, a few minutes she sense dizziness, she slowly drifted to sleep “Why did you leave me? “ She whispered with tears in her eyes.
