Bailey dropped his knapsack by the foot of the bed, his suit case pulled up onto the mattress to empty out its contents. While doing so, his mind was on something else. His thoughts were about the size of the building, what the students were going to be like and planning out any comments that would be thrown at him. Bailey was absolutely certain that snooty females and up-class males will become his main problem. As his hands rummaged around to take more of his clothing out, he realized that it was empty. Coming back to reality, Bailey looked over his floor; which was pilled with his Shirts and jeans in heap of black and grey. "Goddam-" He started off before three quick knocks at his door cut him off. Before he got a chance to respond, the door was opened, the person coming inside almost tripping over a pair of his ALDO Kepano boots.
The person avoided the boots but lost their footing causing them to fall forward, fortunately gripped onto the desk for support. "Jesus!" exclaimed a startled male voice. Bailey had gotten up so fast he knocked over his suitcase onto the floor. "Are you alright?" Bailey said looking over the recovering male, hurriedly picking up his discarded clothing and pulling the suitcase onto bed and shoved his clothing back in. "I'm fine, but what was with the sea of discarded clothing?" He said, righting himself. Bailey looked back at the male. "I was in the middle of unpacking, I forgot Vivian sent someone. Sorry that you were greeted by a deathtrap" Bailey said apologetically but jokingly as he put his boots away. He heard the male stifle a chuckle but cleared his throat. "It's quite alright. But now seems perfect for introductions. My name is Julian Faye; I am one of the prefects for the boy's dorm. Vivian told me to show you around the Academy." He said as he handed Bailey his class schedule.
Bailey took the schedule and skimmed it over "Vivian me that, but it's nice to meet you." Bailey said extending a hand towards Julian, who shook it firmly. Bailey looked over Julian. He had fair dark wavy hair that didn't go past his ears, vibrant green eyes and tawny skin with faded scars along the knuckles and hands. He was almost a whole foot taller than Bailey. "You play sports?" Bailey asked as he eyed the scars. Julian hesitated for a moment and quickly changed the subject. "Yes, but that was before I got here. Now I'll show you around the academy but you should change, dinner will be soon. I'll be waiting outside" With that he left the room, closing the door behind him. Bailey let out an uneven breath "Nice work genius, met a prefect and you nearly killed him on your first day. Smooth." he muttered to himself before stripping off his maroon cardigan and black undershirt, pulling the uniform on and button up the shirt, taking his faded jeans and replaced it with a pair of pants, though a bit loose around his waist. The rubber sole shoes fit him perfectly, though not his style at all.
Opening the door, Bailey found that Julian had been pacing outside his door. "Well it's about time! Well now at least you're dressed, let's go" He said heading towards the staircase, heading down to the lower floor, along a corridor and stopping in front of double doors. "Here is the Library" He said as he pushed the doors open. Bailey gazed out to the hundreds of books that were stacked along tall, elegant shelves, which were sectioned into language and studies. "The library is..." Bailey began but couldn't find the right words to describe his awe. "Vast? Enormous? Beautiful? Most new students have the same reaction." Julian said as smiled. "Now, you can bask in the glory that are century old history books later, right now I've got to show you the dining hall, C'mon" He said as Bailey had to make an effort to leave the library.
Going down the corridor, Bailey heard the soft murmur of voices which gradually grew in volume as he got closer. Once the dining hall was in view, Bailey saw the vast room himself. There were multiple long tables that could easily hold eight people, a large selection of foods which were being served by more than twenty chefs. Julian saw the awe in Bailey's face as he got a hold of his forearm and dragged him into the dining hall. "Well I've got to run, I'm sure you meet a few friends tonight." The prefect said as he let go of Bailey's forearm and stalked off. Bailey stood there, slightly nerved by the sudden number of eyes that were fixed upon him. Awkwardly, he went to get a tray and pilled his plate with sliced fruits, toasted garlic bread and a pulled pork sandwich.
Finding an empty table, surprisingly since the dining hall was packed, he sat down and mildly ate while his mind worked over his schedule. "Alright... History is first with Professor Thomas Hunt, English with Professor Melinda Cate, Calculus with Professor Lenard Vylmont and Biology with Professor Kyle Garrote" As he read the names along the list Bailey imagined how much he'll need to catch up on. He was so deep in thought he didn't notice two people who got into the chairs on either side of him.
"Wow, you're really deep in space eh?" An accent that sounded Russian awoke Bailey from his train of thought, now suddenly face to face with a pair of stunning violet-blue eyes behind a few strands of blonde hair. Bailey was taken aback by the sudden voice and bumped into the other person beside him. "Do not go scaring the new kid out of his chair now Albert" A female voice that carried a thick French accent mildly scolded the male in front of Bailey. "Excuse my... friend, he's not the type who respects personal space" Bailey turned his head to lock eyes with a pale female with a head of light brown hair that cascaded over one shoulder. "My name is Elaine, I assume you are Bailey Flynn, correct?" She stated and Bailey nodded, still recoiling from the shock.
"Nice to meet you Bailey, I'm Liam." He expressed with a friendly hand shake. Bailey was slightly uncomfortable with the two students so close to him but if he wanted to not be an outcast, he'll have to kick the door of his comfort zone down and go outside to the world of socialization and conversation.
"Uh it's nice to meet you too Liam, Elaine" He said shaking Liam's hand. "I heard someone moved into the room next to mine, it has been empty since the beginning of first term. I hope we can become great friends" Liam said, a genuine friendly smile on his face, his accent and smile making Bailey's mouth curve upward into a friendly smile.
