The dining hall was abuzz with small conversations between the tables while Bailey, trying his best to block out no so subtle comments and the typical gossip towards the 'New Kid' between friends, he enjoyed the conversation he had between Liam And Elaine. Liam telling some far-fetched stories of how awful the teachers were with weak impersonations, causing Elaine to snirk subtly, almost spilling her tea as Liam failed an attempt to sound like a female geography professor who, by Liam's description of her, seemed rather crude to students.
"Come now Liam, Miss Roslyn isn't a crude witch, she is a professor who wants students to excel" Elaine promptly added as she drained the last drop of her tea, setting the porcelain tea cup onto the saucer.
"I know a witch when I see one! Besides, no witch gives extra homework for no reason" Liam belly ached as he slumped in his chair.
"Oh yes, because showing up late on the first day, getting into a verbal battle with a female student and falling asleep during a lesson is nothing" Elaine said with small hints of distaste along with a rather amused smile.Bailey noticed Liam's ears slowly redden at the sentence, causing Bailey to smile. "Oh? Is that so Liam? Is she in the wrong or are you?" He questioned, smirking.
"Bailey? My friend, you are siding with the witch of geography!? I've never felt so betrayed!" he exclaimed in a dramatic pose, which set Elaine and Bailey into a fit of light laughter. The group of three finished their dinner, making their way to the lounge area, which Julian had forgotten to show Bailey, that had most of the students spread around, chatting amongst themselves as they played cards or board games.
Elaine waved at a small group of female students once she spotted them "I've got to go it was nice meeting you Bailey, hope we have a class together" Bailey Watched as she strode off as a girl with straight glossy black hair, which was pulled into a ponytail, greeted Elaine with a hug. The group of girls went to a secluded corner to talk.
Liam nudged him in the ribs jokingly as his eyes followed the group of girls. "Are you gonna continue to drool over Elaine and her girls or play a game with me?" He said with a mocking yet playful tone, his Russian accent making it twice as embarrassing and causing Bailey's face to redden slightly. Liam took out an old deck of cards, placing himself on the floor and began shuffling the cards. "Alright, time for a game of speed" Bailey grinned and sat down across from Liam has he split the deck and put five cards for both their hands, twenty cards in reserve and two to flip over. Throughout the game, Bailey and Liam had an excessive exchange of wins and losses. When curfew came around ten, they lost track of who won so they've decided it was a draw, with a promise from Liam to beat Bailey next time.
As the lounge slowly emptied, Liam and Bailey made their way to the boy's dorm to get ready for bed. "So Bailey, how was your first day at Campbelle Academy?" He asked, his Violet-blue eyes looked at Bailey's honey ones. Bailey looked at him surprised buy replied "It was fun, at least I didn't spend it alone" Bailey said stretching his arms, which were sore from the intense game session. Liam looked at Bailey and let out a light chuckle "Good, well see ya tomorrow Bailey. If you need anything, I'm right next door" He patted Bailey on the back and got into his room, Bailey doing the same.
Once back in his room, he had forgotten the mess he had left. Bailey let out a groan, knowing he'll have to clean up his scattered clothing before going to bed. Bailey didn't spend much time with putting them away, just balling it up and shoving them into his suitcase. Bailey took off his school uniform, folding it neatly by his bed before changing into suitable clothes to sleep in.
Once finished he opening the blinds to let the pale light of the moon enter his room. With a tired sigh, he got under the white sheets of his bed, eyes staring at the ceiling as he recollect his thoughts on today. He met the prefect Jullian, made friends with Elaine and Liam and his arms were sore from the game. As Bailey soon felt sleep wash over him, his last thoughts were of his parents. "I wonder... what my parents are doing...?" He thought before his eyes closed, his mind entering a dreamless sleep.
The next morning, he woke up not even before dawn, though his body was tired, his mind was wide awake. Bailey was always an early riser and had trouble going bag to sleep. Deciding against laying down in his bed he got up, taking necessary stuff he needs and headed to the boy's showers down the hall. Bailey's feet were the only sounds he heard besides his own breathing, thought what did he expect? No one would be awake at this hour. Although the corridor was creepy, the showers were expectionally more so. Choosing the stall at the end, he hung his towel on a rack and closed the stall door.
As he turned the handle, he instantly felt warm water from the shower head wash over his tired body. Letting out out a much needed sigh, he proceeded to wash the sleep from his body. His mind soon wandered off, a sudden nervousness had formed in his mind. Today was the official first day of his daily life here, he had met a few nice people but what about the rest? What does Campbelle Academy have in store for him? Bailey stopped and let his mind wander, the sound of the shower suddenly becoming distant.
