Before I could give anyone the chance of spotting me I dashed up the tree, hiding on the longest branch. The leaves providing some cover from the ground below, but also obscuring my vision partly.
I grabbed my sharpened staff that was giving me small splinters in my palm, but I'd take care of that later, an clenched it ready to strike the opponents down below.
"No listen I'm telling you there is a fire right here. They got to be around here somewhere." A familiar voice said somewhat whiny. Followed by a couple of voices agreeing in response. I couldn't just trust it though, slowly I inched my way across the branch, to behind the voices. I spotted their shadows, they must've gathered round the fire.
Continuing my inching I slipped and began falling weapon in hand, so I twisted landing like the super hero in those movies. Looking up slowly at my competition, only to see familiar faces staring at me, and an even more familiar face rushing to my side, and kissing me. "Guys not in front of me gah!" Yang cried out, only for Pyrrah to smack her hand as hard as she could over Yang's mouth, "We are still in a White Fang territory. We got to keep our voices down!" Pyrahh hissing the last half, only to have Yang stick her tongue out, "Easy for you to say, your little sister isn't making out in front of you."
Pyrrah only quirked her eyebrow in response, before taking Jaune, Ren, and Nora to scout the perimeter. Yang looked at us, Weiss sitting on my lap tears in her eyes, staring into mine. The glacier color iris on silver. Both of ours filled with complete emotion. Yang awkwardly stood there for a bit, shuffling her feet, and playing with her hands. "Rube's I know you love looking into your wife's eyes, but where is my soon to be wife?" Yang looked completely empty. Like her other half was missing from her, which I suppose it was. "I tried to carry us Yang, but there was so many, so when I distanced us enough I pushed her into a hollow tree, and hid her best I could, before distracting them away from her."
Yang released a shaky, broken, worn out breathe. I felt terrible, but I knew if I hadn't Blake and I would stand no chance, and we don't even know where Blake is, so there was still hope. I got up to hug Yang, but she turned and walked away, her aura flaming off of her all the while. My gaze dropped, and I felt a hand on my shoulder. Another cupped my cheek tenderly, "You can't save everyone Ruby, and she can protect herself, watch Blake's just waiting for us to find her." I nodded, only we could hope she was right.
