"Y/N?" You turn around, a box of cookies in your arms.
"Yeah?" You answer. Your manager comes out of the double doors that lead to the back of the shop where the kitchen is located.
"I'm going to need you to work late tonight. The cupcakes need to be iced and the cakes need to be taken out of the oven." Your manager tells you as she disappears into the back room.
You have been working at this bakery for a few months now and you rather enjoy it. Baking has been a passion for you. You have always loved to bake, even as a young child.
It is nearly eight o'clock, at night of course, and you let out a yawn. You take out the cakes from the oven. Now, you are in the back icing the cupcakes. Suddenly you hear the bell ring, letting you know that someone entered the bakery.
"Tessa? Is that you?" You call your manager's name although you guess it isn't her. She left an hour ago to deal with a family emergency.
"No, sorry!" A voice echoes from the front of the shop. It sounds like a boy. His voice was soft and smooth; inviting.
"Sorry," you call back as you set the cupcake you are working on down on the kitchen counter. "We are closed."
The boy watches you curiously as you leave the back room and to the front of the bakery. His eyes are a chocolate brown and his smile is warming - it makes your heart beat faster. He is certainly cute.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I was just seeing if I could buy a cake. I'm celebrating with my hyungs tonight," he informs you.
You can't help yourself. Tessa doesn't like late sales but you guess you can make an exception. Besides the cakes were freshly taken out.
"We have cakes." You tell him, which was sort of stupid. Of course there are cakes. It's a bakery.
"Perfect!" He smiles and his eyes light up with excitement. "How much for two cheesecakes?"
You tell him the price.
"Great!" He replies. He digs in his pocket as you go to the back room to get the cheesecakes.
You can feel his gaze on you as you come back and set the cakes by the till. He hands you the money and you give him the change.
"Thanks a lot!" He says as he picks up the cakes and disappears out the door.
You frown and suddenly feel disappointed. You didn't even get to know his name!
With a sigh, you start clearing off the counter to lock up when your hand brushes a piece of paper, knocking it off of the counter.
Believing it was just a receipt, you pick it up off of the floor and carefully open it. You are slightly shocked when you read it. It isn't a receipt at all. It is a note from the boy, Taemin, and he wants to see the "angel", you, who baked the delicious-looking cheesecake.
