Chapter 8 part 1-3

Jinzhai village was situated on the joint border of Anhui. Its mountainous terrain view was a rugged beauty to behold. --- A series of hills and ranges, as well as the Yangtze River which found its way through these mountainous regions. Across the long Yangtze River, there were the many countries that Datong's Eastern Expedition strove to conquer. --- The Country of Xiang was one of them.

Standing up right, with both hands gracefully linked together on his back, his cold and severe eyes gazed faraway, pierced through the mountains, beyond the high sky, over the vast land. The gentle breeze couldn't resist the temptation to kiss his exquisite beyond words face and fluttering his silky waist length hair altogether with his beautiful intricately embroidered white robe. The usually scenic fertile and prosperous surrounding greenery as if could only serve as his background to exhibit more of his pretentious existence. But Jing was not here to immerse in all of this picturesque scenery. He was here to retrieve his lover. His long lost beloved, Lu Cang.

Mu Yue and Ding Peng had given him the full report about the reason why Xiao Sang and Lu Cang continued to stay in that hut. Apparently, the Emperor's Emblem's bearer who got killed by the bandit was Brother Yi, the healer, Lu Cang and Xiao Sang's savior.

Three months ago, after Lu Cang had awakened from his coma, Xiao Sang asked Brother Yi to take the emblem and ask for help from the nearest government, to send word to the Capital about their whereabouts. Unfortunately before he could even reach the nearest government to relay his message, he was killed and the Emblem taken. --- Leaving behind his lovely wife who was expecting their first newborn baby. Feeling guilty, Xiao Sang could only stay by his Master as well as the poor widow's side. To protect them. He strongly believed that the assassins were still out there, waiting for the opportunity to kill Lu Cang. --- They killed Brother Yi who carried the Emperor's Emblem, without a doubt, they had mistaken him for Lu Cang.

Apparently Lu Cang's predicament wasn't a coincidence or some unfortunate random incident. They concluded that the 'mountain bandits' were after the Emperor's emblem bearer. Given the way they inflicted an inner wound rather than an obvious physical wound, the usual method of typical bandits, proved that they were too highly skilled for mere bandits and had a hidden agenda. And, according to the small prey that flaunted the Emperor's emblem that they caught a couple days ago, they were paid to rob the Emperor's emblem and killed the bearer.

Furthermore, even though it was said that the letter contained something about stopping Xiang's scheme, for all this year, Xiang's country remained static without any indication to rebel against Datong. Despite the letter never being delivered safely to Xiang's country.

For Jing, this was all too obvious.

Putting everything into consideration, Jing ordered Mu Yue and Ding Peng to go back to Anhui. To prepare for everything he needed and to send word to Duke Tongxin on their way, as he intended to stay with Lu Cang.

Jing didn't want to be bothered by anything right now. He wanted to focus solely on Lu Cang.

A year....... Given the time they needed to find Lu Cang, Jing was extremely grateful to be able to reunite with his beloved Lu Cang again, no matter what kind of condition Lu Cang was in. --- He was never planning on giving up hope in finding Lu Cang, he even had prepared himself for the worst. Naturally, this kind of condition could be counted as a miracle. As long as Lu Cang was safe and sound and breathing. Heaven!! Jing almost wanted to hold a banquet just to celebrate this event.

Currently, Lu Cang was injured badly. The wound itself was not apparent from the outside. He had suffered from an inner wound which disrupted his flow of energy.
