More than this (Jailene - One Shot)

She says..

My hand holding Aiegn's hand, seeing this, the crowds cheered as we entered the room. Flashes of lights coming from everywhere, I had to put on my best smile because I can't let them down. That is what I am here for, I have to play with their game. I can't let them know my pain, I have to act as if everything is alright beside the fact that this man beside me was the reason I am drowning in my tears last night.

A lady ushered us to our seats, and the awarding ceremony began. I wanted to yawn, and close my eyes for a bit but when you are in this kind of gathering those are the things you need to avoid. You have to pay attention, and be still as possible. You have to respect the group of people who had sleepless nights for this event to be possible. You have to give them credit and by not sleeping or yawning you show that you are. So I try to entertain myself by looking around. At first I try to look for the people I knew. But later on it bored me, as I was excusing myself going to the powder room I saw him from the corner of my eye.

I closed the door and yawned, I washed my hand and showered my face a little to woke me up. I pat on some tissue on my face and proceeded with retouching my make-up. I thought to myself,
"So they're here."

Of course they are, as they are the most sought after band of today. I hope they would win on the category they are in, after all they do deserve it. I finished up and walk my way outside.

"You looked tired today" said a voice behind me.

I turned around and saw him. "Hi," I uttered "A bit, but still have enough energy for today."

He then handed me a bottle of water and some sandwich, "I'm not really hungry, Thanks though." trying to put my best smile.

"I know, but you seemed bored. Try munching on those it'll entertain you for a while."
He winked and left.

Somehow I felt a pang inside me, I thought I was doing my best but he saw what I really felt. He must be something. I went back to my seat and ate the food and realized how good it must be as I haven't noticed that the program ended.
