It was ten o'clock at night, and Madison was just starting to go to bed. There was a tall man in the corner of her bedroom, next to the tall dresser she had by the door. She wasn't sure if she was seeing things or if he was really there. She reached her hand out to touch him and right before she was able to reach him, she blinked and when she opened her eyes he was gone......
In the bathroom, she was brushing her shoulder length black and blue hair and her teeth. She looked up into the mirror and saw him again, she spun around so fast that she had lost her balance, when she was turned around she was staring at a blank wall. So she got up and started to brush her teeth, again when she looked back up into the mirror, there he was standing right behind her. This time she didn't spin around to see him, instead she was staring at his reflection.
As she was staring at him in the mirror, she asked, "Hello, um... What do you want?" he didn't answer her. "What do you want?" she repeated. He started moving closer and reached out his hand, "Please, Pl-Please don't!" she scowled at him. His hand was moving closer and closer until finally, he touched her and little creatures crawled onto her shoulder.
She woke up in a cold sweat, screaming and looking around as if he had been watching her the whole time. She looked over her at her alarm clock that displayed, 6:30 am. "Crap, I need to get ready for school." she said quietly to herself. She got up and started the coffee pot. She then went to wash her face and got dressed. She was standing in front of the coffee pot with bed head and a colorful coffee mug in her right hand and a spoon in the other.
She saw a short slender shadow move behind her. She stared at the reflection on the coffee pot panicking.
"What are you doing?" said a woman from behind her. She spun around so fast she stumbled, said, "mom!" and reached out to hug her.
"What is up with you this morning?" her mom asked.
"Bad dream." she replied while turning around to get coffee.
"Well, you better finish getting ready for school." Danyal said walking out of the kitchen.
Ready for school, Madison started for her car, she stopped at her friend's house before going to school. Madison and her friend Maria, who had long blond curly hair and green eyes, got to school and met up with a couple of their friends, they all walked to the same class together. Through the window of the class there he was standing, the tall man, in the corner of the room. She thought that turning around would make him go away so she spun around then back, but he did not disappear. She spun a few times until her friends looked at her like she was crazy.
She ran to the bathroom and stayed in there for ten minutes before rinsing her face off with cold water. After drying off her face she looked in the mirror and saw him standing behind her again and ran out of the bathroom panicking. She got to class and sat down in her seat as her teacher was taking role, the teacher called her name and she was staring at the corner not paying attention. "Madison?" Mr. C said, "What?" she said as someone tapped her on the shoulder, "oh, I'm here." she said quietly staring at the corner of the room.
As the lunch bell rang everyone got up except for Madison, who was still staring at the corner of the room.
Maria came back, "You coming to lunch Madi?"
"Yeah.. be there in a sec," she answered.
"See you in there," Maria said leaving the room. Madison got up slowly, and headed for the corner. She stared blankly at the corner wondering why he showed up at her school too, then she went to the cafeteria.
She got her lunch and sat at the table with her friends like usual. All through out lunch Madison was quieter than normal, this worried all of her friends. Usually she is the loudest in her group of friends. Madison snapped back from space when she remembered that she would be home alone after school,
"Do you guys want to come over after school and help me hang up some posters and some drawings?" she looked at her friends.
"Sounds fun, I'm in." Maria said.
"Why don't we all come?" said Gavin, the brown wavy haired and green eyed boy sitting with them, Charley, the ginger blue eyed teen next to Gavin, agreed that Gavin could ride with him on the drive over after school.
"I got some really cool new ones!" Madison said excitedly.
The rest of the day flew by pretty fast. After school Madison's group of friends drove to her house. Once they were all inside they went to the kitchen for a snack, then off to Madison's room they all filed down the hall. Madison had a five inch tall stack of heavy metal posters and artwork.
"Damn dude that's a lot of posters and artwork to put up. I don't think you're going to be able to put all of these up. There is only a little more wall space," Gavin said.
Madison snorts and agrees, "I know, I need a bigger wall."
"Even your doors are covered." Maria states.
"Maybe you should start to cover the roof too!!" Charley said as everyone laughed. "We need more tacks," Charley called over the stereo.
"I think I have some more in the living room," Madison said leaving the room, "I'll go get them." Madison ran to the living room rummaging through a few drawers from the coffee table in the middle of the room. Madison closed everything back up once she found the tacks and turned around to a great surprise...
Standing behind her was the tall man dressed in black wearing a fedora. She quickly backed up into the coffee table, nowhere to go, she screamed and everyone ran in. They all looked at her with terror and hurried to help her to her feet.
"You look like you just saw a ghost," Maria said hugging her. Madison, still staring at the tall man, didn't say anything. Her friends all turned around and saw him, standing still, in the corner of the room.
"That's so cool," Gavin said reaching out to touch him, "it looks so real!!"
"D-D-Don't touch him!!" Madison shouted.
"Why not?" Gavin asked as his grin disappeared.
"Because I don't know what it is, how it got in here, or where it came from," Madison said anxious to get out of the same room as it. They all sat there staring at the tall man for about fifteen minutes, he didn't move or go away. After staring at him they all went back to Madison's room to sit and talk, but before anyone could leave the room Gavin stuck his hand through the tall man.
As Gavin Pulled his hand back, with a disgusted look, had creatures crawling all over him. In a hurry to get them all off Gavin went screaming and jumped in the pool in the back yard. Maria, Madison, and Charley ran after him and pulled him out.
"You're catching all of those... those.. whatever they are," Madison said scolding him, "I told you not to touch him!"
"You didn't tell me that he was full of creepy things," Gavin said shuddering.
After drying off and borrowing some of Madison's deceased father's old clothes, they all went back inside to try and understand what just happened.
Quickly Madison asked, "Will you spend the night, Maria? I don't want to be here alone tonight, my mom is going to stay at work tonight."
"Yea, I'll call and ask my mom if I can stay." Maria said pulling her phone out of her back pocket. As Maria walked into the other room Charley suggested, "If you want we can all stay over tonight," pointing to Gavin.
"Yeah we can sleep on the floor," Gavin said looking at Charley.
"Sure, why not?" Madison said as she pulled her phone out of her hoodie pocket, "Just let me tell my mom so she doesn't worry."
"My mom said that I can stay," Maria said walking in the room, "but first she wants me to go home and finish some of my chores."
"Okay I'll take you there and help, that will give you guys," Madison said looking at Gavin and Charley, "time to go home and gets some clothes for tonight and tomorrow." Charley drove Gavin home, "I'm going to go home to grab a few things then we can meet the girls at Maria's house." Gavin nodded, waved and went inside.
