Him

He's alive...

A few minutes later I hear a knock on my door. "Hey, can I come in?"

I nod and then realize he can't see me. "Yeah."

He opens the door jingling his car keys. "Wanna go get food?"

I sit up in my bed and laugh. "First off. I'm in my pjs. Second, your car is back at the school."

He frowns and looks at his keys and then me. "Crap."

"It's okay. You tried."

"Yeah. Why are you so upset?"

"Um.." I rack my brain for a second and then I sigh. "I don't really know. Those guys talked to me and ticked me off and then some girl I've like never talked to comes up to me and asks me why your staring at me. Now, I don't really know why you were but I had to tell her you were my chaperone and that's why."

He sat down at the end of my bed and sighs. "I'm sorry. It's just you have to make it till graduation and then we can be together. If you want to be, that is. And about the guys. What guys?"

"I don't know. Some guys that were like hey baby and I said don't call me baby. And he said hmmm baby got some bite. I Likey. Or some crap."

His eyes grow darker and I sigh. "It's fine. It's over I handled it."

He laughs lightly and grabs my hand. "Lets go find food." I nod and we leave the cabin. My pjs are sweats and a t-shirt. I think we are good.

"Where are we going?" I ask after a few minutes of walking.

"I don't really know. I'm hoping to find a restaurant or something."

"OHHHHH. Hmm. Ok." I smile and we keep walking.

We eventually reach cabin one and 4 guys come walking out laughing and playfully punching each other. My eyes widen and I look away. Too late though.

"Hey, the girl from the lake. Hey baby. Who's this? Your boyfriend?" The 'leader' guy says.

"Um..." I look at Jace for help and he looks at the guy.

"No. Just a friend."

"Oh well. I'm Gage. And since your only a friend, that means I can have her right?"

I feel Jace stiffen beside me. "If she wants you then, yes. But I wouldn't count on it."

Gage raises his brow at Jace and steps toward me. "Hey baby. Wanna go grab something to eat?"

I groan and step away from him. "Hell no. And I said not to call me baby remember?" I say and smile sweetly.

He frowns and puts his hand on my cheek. I try not to flinch away. "What do you mean by 'hell no'?"

I stare him in the eyes. "It means, hell. No."

He was about to say something else when Jace stepped in and pulled me away from Gage. "She said no man. Get the hint."

Gage scowled at Jace and nodded stiffly before walking away.

As soon as they were all gone, Jace turns to me. "Those guys?"

I nod before throwing my arms around Jace. "He. Touched. My face."

Jace laughs and pulls me away from him. "And you don't know how bad I wanted to rip his hand off for it."

I smile at him, "you should've."

He chuckles and grabs my hand. "No one else is going to lay a finger on you again if I can help it."

I hug him and then my stomach grumbles. I blush and pull away from him. "C'mon, lets find food." I nod and we walk passed Gage's cabin and after a few minutes we come to the lodge.
