Before Noon

He smiles at me. "It's okay.. Everyone understood."

I sigh, "How could my mother keep that from me? And be okay with herself?"

Jace sighs to now. "I don't know. I really don't know."

I was about to say something but my phone started ringing. "Hello?" I ask irritated that I was interrupted.

"Honey, Jeff, your father, his wife, son and I are going to dinner to talk and sort things out. Join us please? After all it is about you." I groan softly and look at Jace pleadingly.

He looks confused and I talk back into the phone. "Can I bring my boyfriend? You should meet him. Dad has." I look back at Jace and now he looks a little less confused.

"Oh sure, yeah. Meet us at the little restaurant in town in ten."

I say ok and hang up.

"Help me out of this gown? We need to leave in five."

He smirks and yanks the gown off.

I smirk at him when I see his face. He thought I was clothes-less. I laugh and punch him playfully.

He smirks at me again and kisses me lightly before dragging me out the door. He starts to lead me to my car and I stop him. "I live five minutes away. It'll take us five minutes to walk. C'mon." He sighs but nods.

"So, I get to meet your mom?"

I nod and frown, "I hope she likes you. She liked Linal, but that's because she thought he was perfect. But I don't know what she'll think when she notices that your my 'teacher'." I put air quotes around teacher and he laughs.

"I hope she likes me too."

By this time we had reached the restaurant and walked inside.

I walk up to the same girl that's always working the front. She smiles at me and I smile back, "your moms already here. Is that where your headed?" I nod. And she leads us to her.

My mom sees us coming and stands up to greet me. "Paris! I'm sorry about earlier." Now she sees Jace and her smile falters a little. "Who's this? Where's Linal?"

I roll my eyes and sit down as Jace holds out his hand. "I'm Jace. I'm your daughters girlfriend."

My mom ignores his hand and looks at me. "Linal?"

I roll my eyes, again. "Mom, Linal and I broke up."

Her eyes widen and she gasps. "Why? Your guys were perfect!"

I frown, "mom, we were not perfect together."

My mother doesn't answer and stares at Jace. "Hey, he's that new teacher." I look at Jace and he looks at me, then my mothers eyes widen. "Your dating.. Your teacher!?"

I wince at the anger in my mothers voice. I nod and before she can freak out, my dad, his wife, Leroy and Jeff all walk in. Jeff sits next to my mom and Leroy sits next to me.

My dad says hello to Jace before he sits next to my mother and his wife sits next to him.

My mom stares at me dad irritatedly. "What?" He snaps at her.

She scowls and looks at Jace and then back at my father. "You know he's her teacher right?" She growls at him.

He shrugs, "yeah, I found out a few days ago. I don't care," my mom raises an eyebrow at him and he continues quickly. "Well I mean I do, what I mean is she's eighteen. He's only 23. There's nothing wrong with it." My dad looks at me. "Especially if she loves him."
