(y/n) POV
It was homeroom and I was sitting next to the loudest, but funniest person I knew, (b/f/n). Next to her sat (o/b/f/n), bouncy as ever and almost as loud. And then across from me was the only one in the whole school that made my heart skip a beat every time he talked, (c/n). They were all in the art class for kids who were really passionate about art, or at least really good at it. I... wasn't. I liked to draw, I just didn't do it well. He was showing everyone at the table his sketchbook. It was supposedly his "bad stuff," but I thought it was all amazing. Even (b/f/n) and (o/b/f/n) thought they were extraordinary.
"Gah! This was when I tried to draw Yagami from Death Note," he said, looking completely embarrassed.
I'd never watched Death Note, but nevertheless, it was outstanding. "Are you kidding me? This isn't bad at all!" I blurted.
"C'mon (y/n), you've seen my more recent work. It's WAY better than this." he said, looking at it in disgust.
"Yes, but that doesn't make this bad. It just means you've grown as an artist and are more experienced now," I said.
He flipped to a random page and burst out laughing. "You've gotta admit though, this one's pretty bad."
It looked like an eight-year-old just learned what an emu was and tried to draw it without a reference nearby. I couldn't help but laugh too. "How long have you had this notebook for?" I asked.
"About two years," he replied, still chuckling a bit.
"Well, it's..uhh....the pages have certainly seen better days," I cautiously said, smirking.
"Heh, you could say that again."
"Well, it's good to be reminded of how far you've come."
His response makes me want to flip a table. "Eh, I should probably get rid of it sometime soon."
"What?! No way! Don't do that! Even if you've done better work, most of those are really good."
"Yeah, don't just throw it away," (o/b/f/n) cut in.
"Besides, you can still draw more in it," added (b/f/n). "There are quite a few blank pages."
He turned to his two friends sitting next to him. "C'mon guys, back me up. Shouldn't I just toss this old thing out?" They quickly made eye-contact and gave each other a look that said, yeah--no. They then looked back at him and simultaneously shook their heads. "Ugh, fine. I won't get rid of it yet," he reluctantly said.
"Yay!" I squealed, dancing in my seat. The bell then rang and everyone got up to go to our first period classes. "See ya," I said waving to them as they collected their things. They waved back and I happily took off to art class.
(Hello lovelies, it's felt like forever since I've posted a chapter. However, I've come out of my pit of writer's block with many ideas. So stay tuned for part 2! Okay, bye now!!)
