What Comes Next: A Percabeth Fanfiction

Chapter Seven

*Annabeth’s P.O.V.*

I really, really hate taking a cab now.

I was so stupid! I saw all the warning signs: the muttering, the oversize frame, and especially the smell. Yet, I didn’t even listen and look at all the trouble I caused everyone.

I guess Percy was just a little shaken up; since he has Tyson it’s a little easier for him to remember that the voice isn’t real. But for me, well, I think you know…

Truth is I’m an emotional wreck. Even though the Cyclops was only mocking Percy, everything he said was right.  By bringing our baby into the world, we’re endangering his or her life. I would never be able to live knowing it’d be my fault if she or he got hurt. I don’t think Percy would either.

It’s been 3 days since the party and I haven’t left my apartment since. Piper and Hazel have come in every 2 hours it seems, and Percy hasn’t left my side, he’s been holding my hand and saying my name, but not pushing me any further and I appreciate that. I haven’t really said a word the whole time, just nodding for thank yous. Everything seems so distant, and I don’t think I’m in control anymore. Percy is starting to get extremely worried.

“Annabeth, please, please talk to me,” Percy pleaded (of course, looking like a seal).

When I barely looked at him, that’s when he picked up his phone and held it up to his ear.

I’ve rooted myself to the couch which hasn’t been very comfortable.

My ears seemed to automatically turn off, I barely was able to hear anything, until Percy hung up his phone call and took his hands in mine, and said, “C’mon, we’re going to get help.”

Not as long as you’d probably want it to be for over 30 hours of driving time, but hey, at least its something…
