The part of the neighborhood where I lived was peaceful. It was quiet and everyone got along. We drove by the small bridge with the crystal clear water. The trees were still green and everything smelled like summer still. The fresh cut grass and the smell of sunflowers. Everything was perfect here. I sighed to myself hoping to go home to a peaceful quiet neighborhood.
Once I got out of the car I walked into my pale white house. The porch needed new paint job. I walked passed my dad who was fanning out the rug from the bathroom.
"Hi dad" I said.
"Hey honey" he replied without looking up from what he was doing.
I opened to see a the whole living room covered in white sheets. I was about to ask what was going on when Zach popped his head up from the back corner. He had navy shiny blue paint smeared on his cheek. He sent me an apologetic smile like he just got caught doing something he shouldn't be doing. I was about to ask him what all this was about when I felt something cold and wet run down the back of legs. Zach's face paled. I turned around furious ready to start yelling at someone for what they did.
"YOU JER.." before I could finish what I was about to yell the kid lowered his paint brush. I came face to face with sky blue eyes. The kid looked just a few inches taller than me. I was taken back. He looked familiar.
"Oh God! I'm so sorry I thought you were Zach" said the kid laughing. He looked to be the same age as Zach.
I just started back at him. His laughing died down as I stared him down. I wasn't trying to, but he looked familiar. He coughed awkwardly.
"Hey sis why don't you leave us? You're scaring Shawn." said Zach who was getting up from his sitting position.
"So Shawn huh?" I asked him raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah.... Why do you know me?" He asked.
"No, but you look oddly familiar to me." I told him. He hummed.
"I'm going to out on a limb here, but I'm going to assume you have already meet my brothers?" He asked me.
"You have brothers?" I asked him trying to figure out who's siblings was his. My mind was drawing a blank. He throw his head back and laughed and throaty laugh. It was a warm laugh. I smiled a little from his laugh and from embarrassment.
"Yeah I do. They are younger than me though." He said.
"May I know their names?" I asked him. He was about to answer me when someone called my name out.
"Cara?" asked a voice behind me. I froze in my place. I turned around to see two twin boys standing in my doorway.
"Oliver? Jack?" I asked.
"Well it looks like I have to go and it seems like you guys already know each other." said Shawn. He pat me on the back with his clean hand. I saw Oliver whistle to himself.
"Nice house you got here sweet cheeks." he said with a wink. I blushed madly. This boy will be the death of me."Get out!" I yelled at them. I shoved Shawn out the door and slammed it in their faces. I felt bad for slamming it to Jack, but the other two deserve it. I stormed upstairs. James round around the corner and slammed right into me.
"Sorry" I mumbled and walked straight into my bedroom.
I needed to tell Mary about everything that happened today. I had to tell her about my encounter with the twins and how my brother may or may not be friends with their brother. I laid on my bed face down feeling the soft, fuzzy, pale blue blanket against my face. I sighed into it. To be honest I have no idea why I'm mean to Oliver. I guess it's because he is so full of himself and gives off a bad vibe. Jack on the other hand seems sweet and less of flirt. If I had to deal with any of them it would be Jack. I slowly got up and walked to my bathroom.
