*About 3,000 years later. Mercy was unconscious for 2,985 years and she is now 15*
I peeled my eyes open to the soft glow of sunlight pouring into my window. The pearly white curtains moved slightly from the warm summer breeze.Too bad school started back up. I sighed and pulled myself out of bed and walked downstairs. The house was quiet until I heard James voice booming from downstairs. I rolled my eyes. My brothers are always at each other's throats. I was the youngest of four.
The oldest was James who was 25. He comes by and visits a lot. Unlike the rest of us he has blonde hair and pale blue eyes like my father. The second oldest is Zach. He is 20 years old. He has light brown hair and sharp green eyes and is the tallest out of all of us. Next is Cameron who has dark brown hair. His eyes are a warm brown. He has hints of green in them once in awhile. Cameron is 18 years old. He is the most athletic one out of all of us. Then there's me. I'm 15 years old and have jet black hair. I have piercing blue eyes with hints of green. I'm more of the artistic one.
I walk downstairs into the kitchen and immediately smell something burning. I scrunch my nose. James and Cameron are face to face with each other with fists clenched at their sides. Their breathing is becoming heavier by the second. Zach is sitting on the stool by the kitchen island and watching the whole thing go down. I decide to join him.
"What'd I miss?" I asked grabbing a piece of his raspberry jelly toast.
"Well where to begin. Cameron was cooking eggs and didn't realize he left the burner on too high. Which is why it smells burnt down here. Then James came in saying he needed the stove and knowing Cameron he didn't budge. Then James yelled at him for burning food this early in the morning then they got into an argument over who gets the stove." said Zach as he stuffed a piece of toast into his mouth. I nodded my head.
"....this is all your fault!" cried James. "If you listened to anything mom and dad taught you! You would be able to cook and be out of my way."
"My fault! I left the burner low! You came in here and turned it up!" shouted Cameron.
"I'm out see ya Zach." I hugged Zach and went back upstairs to my room.
"Morning hun." came a sleepy voice. I turned around to see my mother's half awake appearance.
"Don't go down there. James and Cameron are at it again." I warned her.
"Again? This early." She said with a sigh. She rubbed her forehead and went back into her room to avoid the screaming boys downstairs.
I walked into my room and I heard my phone buzzing. I walked over to my bed to see a text message from my best friend Mary. Mary was a year older than me. We meet on my first day of high school. She showed me to one of my classes that she had too. After that we clicked. Mary has blonde hair that fell in waves of curls. She had green eyes and was by far prettier than me. Every guy at school likes her even though she denies it.
*Hurry up! I'm outside waiting.*
*Okay I'll be down in 5.*
I grabbed my pale purple t-shirt and my black shorts. I pulled my hair up in a messy bun. Then I slipped on my black vans and grabbed my bag. I ran down the stairs and bumped into James.
"Woah there!" he said as he steadied me. "Don't forget your lunch." He said as he handed me my lunch. I rolled my eyes.
"Thanks but I'm running late." I said and slipped past him. I said goodbye to the others and saw Mary waiting by my mailbox.
"About time! We can't be late again Mr.Allen will have my head." she said. We walked to school. We got there right before the bell rang for homeroom. We parted ways. My homeroom was on the other side of the school from Mary's.
"Morning Cara." said Ms.Rosemary.
"Morning." I said. I walked to the back of the room. I had the art teacher for homeroom and boy did I love it. We shared homeroom with the other art teacher. Her name was Ms.Thomas. She had a senior homeroom. Usually all the sophomore girls cling to senior boys in here. It makes me sick.
I sit in the back with my friend Sally. We started becoming closer over the summer since she was in my homeroom. We were chatting about what we should do over the weekend when two new boys walked into the room. Everyone got quiet. I didn't bother turning around to see who they were. Neither did Sally.
"Hi there handsome." said Lucy. I rolled my eyes. Lucy is the flirt and could get anyone she wanted. I kept my back to them.
"Okay guys please welcome seniors Ol.." the bell interrupted Ms.Thomas could introduce the new kids. I grabbed my bag and walked to writing. I had no interest in meeting the seniors. All they do is push everyone else around.
I walked in and sat down in the middle row next to George. I wasn't considered popular, but I was known throughout the school thanks to Cameron. I zoned out half way through the lesson on how Hamlet's mind was crazy. I started to draw on the side of notebook until the bell rang. I gathered my stuff and went to Chemistry where my best friend would be.
She saw sitting by herself near the window. The seat next to her was open for me. I walked over and sat down. I took my notes from last class started to the assignment that was left on the board for us to do.
"Great who doesn't love Lewis diagram and oh don't forget the Bohr's." said Mary sarcastically. I had to bite my tongue to stop myself from laughing at her. I hated doing this more than anyone else in here does.
"Suck it up. We all hate this." I said. The whole time Mary and I talked quietly about how she was trying out for the soccer team and how I had two new kids in my shared homeroom.
"Did you look at them at all?" asked Mary.
"No why would I? Lucy was all over one of them so that only means that they are 1 attractive and 2 jocks." I groaned.
"But still! They could be eh, decent, adorable, cute, hot, or sexy." stated Mary.
"And?" I asked.
"God Cara! You're suppose to help me out here." said Mary laughing. I laughed with her. "Well I hope they are." I rolled me eyes.
"They are seniors Mary. Meaning they hate every underclassmen and they won't even be here long." I said.
"So? Don't crush my dreams." she said with a giggle. The bell rang. I groaned. I hate my math class. I was the only sophomore in there and the rest were juniors and seniors. Mary wasn't even in it with me.
I walked to my math class and took my regular seat in the back corner. I hate everyone in here. The class was filled with the popular kids. I was thankful that no one sat beside me in the back, but my luck took a turn when a new kid walked into the room.
