Lost Goddess

Prologue

All I can hear is screaming from every direction. My head was pounding from everything. There was no familiar face for miles. I ran everywhere, looking a way out. I wanted to wake up. I kept praying this was a dream, but this was real. We were in a war. A full blown war.

"How could you?" came a woman's voice then an ear piercing scream. I cringed back and fell onto the ground. I covered my ears and tears kept falling down my cheeks.

"You have been in charge for far too long" growled a man. I knew whose scream that was. It was Athena's.

I smelled smoke everywhere. It burned my lungs. I ran screaming for my mother and father. My father was out fighting the black hooded men and women. I have never been this terrified until now. The walls around me were crumbling. Everywhere you turned smelled like death. Blood was spilled everywhere.

I ran around a corner and came face to face with a man. He smiled at me evilly. I cringed back and tried to run away. He grabbed me and flung me over his shoulder. I screamed until my throat felt rough.

"Let her go! You filthy animal!" cried Thanatos. Soon my vision focused on him and his twin brother. He raised his sword high above his head and swung his sword at the man's head. He fell to the ground.

Thanatos grabbed me and we both started running away. We heard another ear piercing scream that made my blood run cold. I looked to find the source of the noise. There in the middle of the meadow Hera fell to ground. She clutched her stomach and whimpered. Then her eyes glazed over and a far away look fell across her face. Which only meant they killed her. Thanatos pulled me towards him and ran us to my mother. She was weak and bleeding too much. I started to cry. I was shaking uncontrollably.

"Get her out of here! She must survive!" She cried at Thanatos. Tears were falling down her face. That's when I saw my father laid beside her cold and dead. "They will kill her and all of us will fall."

"No mom!" I cried and grabbed her. She hugged me and pushed me away from her.
"Take her to the fates. They can't touch her there." She told him.

"Yes your majesty." He said and throw me over his shoulder. I screamed and cried for her. Then a man came up and slit her throat and she fell to the ground. Then I let out a scream that shook the entire meadow. Everyone feel to their knees and they started clawing at their ears. Then we disappeared through a portal.

Just as we got to the fates I felt a wave of power hit me. It was so strong it caused so much pain. Voices were everywhere in my head. I couldn't think straight. Thanatos held me in his arms not knowing what to do. His brother started screaming the fates names. The fates came in.

"She must forget to survive. Let her live among the mortals as a new life. You will watch over her and make sure no harm comes her way." They said together. A spell was cast over us and then darkness washed over us. I remember falling into a deep slumber.
