Jericho stayed with me the whole night, going as far as to ignore his Alpha when asked a question. Kayle shook his head, grinning slightly, before leaving the room promising a visit the day after.

I couldn't lie and say I wasn't happy he had left.

My mate was by far the largest male I had ever come across, possibly ever come across, and his mere presence was even larger. His snowy scent wrapped around me just like his steel arms, forever enclosed in just him, we sat in a comfortable silence until my stomach growled like there was no tomorrow. Sure, I made sure to go and change into his shirt because he didn't like the smell of Kyle on me, but I liked that subtle possessiveness.

Jericho grinned into my neck, chuckling silently before I pushed his heavy arms off of my waist. Looking back to his angry gaze I smiled crookedly. "I need to eat or I will hurt someone"

Sighing at his frown, I grabbed his hand and pulled him with me, planning a large meal with the food that was already in the kitchen. Kayle had stocked the shelves and fridge earlier in the day, making sure I was well cared for.

Obviously he was a large man, so I needed to make a huge meal. I pulled out several steaks, vegetables, and started cooking as he stood behind me in the kitchen. Aware of his eyes, it was almost unnerving to be cooking in front of him.

"Can I help?" His voice was soft and slightly apprehensive, but that question couldn't have made me happier. I grinned wide, tilting my head. "What do you want to do?"

Jericho blushed slightly, making me inwardly coo, his head low. "Can you teach me how to do simple things? Even though I don't know how to cook, I still want to help"

I swear my heart exploded.

Smiling so much I swear my face would crack, I took his hand and placed a knife there. "You can chop the vegetables at first okay? I like the feeling of cooking for someone, especially my mate"

We both busied ourselves, eyes straying to eachother countless times before we sat in my lounge, Jericho waiting till I was seated before falling into the space next to me.

He was like a huge cat. More like a lion to be honest, but he was so adorable.

After I had finished I curled onto his lap, loving the way he immediately put his meal down to hold me gently. My big, jungle lion.

"I'm glad you're not afraid of me" His voice was sudden and serious, with a type of history that hurt my heart. I turned my head up to his, taking his large jaw in my hand and making him look me in they eye.

"I could never be afraid of you. Not just because you are my mate, but because you gave me the most passionate, gentle look I have ever seen." I kissed the underside of his jaw softly, smiling when I hear his low growl.

"I would never judge someone by what they look like or their job." I winked playfully, staring into his amber eyes.

"Plus, you're unbelievably hot so how could I fear you?"

Jericho blushed. He fucking blushed. Oh my lord. He took a hold of me tightly, wrapping my legs around his waist before lying back on the couch, nestled on one another as if this was the way it had always been.

I wondered if it would be when I told him about my..... about what I didn't want.

I felt him tense beneath me before standing up, me hanging off of him like a Koala. I stepped off of him and raised a questioning brow.

"The pack is under attack from rogues. I need to go and fight"

He started walking out of the door, stopping when he saw I was following. I looked him dead in the eye, even stomping my foot when he growled. "I am your mate and a force to be reckoned with. I can hold my own and I'm sure you will be there if I can't"
