Chapter 2

James POV

I sat in a carriage alone with the rest of the marauders as we rode up to the castle, a stupid smile on my face. I had spent the whole day with Lily and we hadn't fought once. She even called me James instead of Potter. It was amazing! I wasn't sure if I should give up going after her this year. She had said no for all those years before but today changed my mind. I would go after her till the day I died. I remember the the way her waist seems to fit so perfectly in my hands and how beautiful she looked smiling and laughing with me as I dragged her down the hall to find out friends in the compartment. She was perfect and this year she was going to be mine. We shared the heads dorm from this year.... Maybe being around all the time would ma-
"Prongs get out of Lilly land!" Sirius shouted
"I was not in 'Lilly land'" I said putting air quotes around Lilly land.
"Yes, you totally were. You get the same look any time there is anything to do with Lily. Now stop thinking about her and listen to this idea for a prank I had."
"But Paddy this year is going to be different!! I can feel it! This is going to be the year that Lily Evans finally goes out with me!" I said smiling
"Well don't get your hopes too high. It took you 6 years to get her not to hate your guts. Getting Evans to go out with you might be too much for even your charms." He said.
"But that's the thing! Now that she doesn't hate me and knows me, how can she now fall in love with me!?" I ask with a smirk
"Just don't push her James." Remus warned. " I've been friends with Lily longer that you have and you can't go in guns a blazing."
"I won't Moony trust me. This is our last year together at Hogwarts,I'm not going to screw this up."

Lily's POV same time

I was sitting in one of the carriages with Marlene, Alice, and Mary. My best friends since first year. Alice was talking about how her  boyfriend Frank had taken her to dinner in Paris over the summer once he got his apperation license but I wasn't really paying attention. I was looking out the window thinking of how James' hands felt on my waist and how a part of me had wished they had stayed there long after we got to the compartment. What was wrong with me? This was James Potter we were talking about. The boy you had vowed never to go out with since 2nd year! Why were you thinking about him so much lately? Even over the summer, when he wrote you letters, you responded almost immediately and longed for the next one to come. It had gotten to the point where she would receive letters from James at least twice a day, if not more and she always responded. Why was she so drawn to him lately? It didn't make any sense! He was still the same arrogant toe rag that he always had been right? Well.... That wasn't exactly true. 6th year he was actually very nice and gentlemanly. He had given up randomly hewing people for the fun of it and even stopes calling Snape Snivillus. Once I got to know home better I grown to like him a lot. I guess I just now realized how much I valued his friendship...
"Lily did you hear a word of what I just said?" Alice asked.
"Sorry no, I was just thinking. What were you saying?"
"I was asking you about how you felt about sharing a dorm with Potter this year! I can't believe you won't be sleeping I the same room as us!"
"Oh yes. I'm going to miss being able to hang out with you guys too. I didn't even think of that."
"But you still didn't answer her question about living with James," Marlene said
"Oh well um... Ya I don't really know." I mumbled blushing
"Why are you blushing Lily? Honestly you'll look the same color as you hair if you keep it up li- WAIT A MINUTE!!! YOU ARE BLUSHING BECAUSE YOU ARE EXITED TO SHARED A DORM WITH JAMESIE BECAUSE YOU TOTALLY HAVE A CRUSH ON HIM!!!!" Marlene screamed, he voice getting higher and higher as she went on.
"Scream it a little louder Marlene, I don't think they heard you in Belgium!" I hissed at her.
"I knew it I knew it I knew it!!!!! Alice you owe me 5 galleons! Beginning of 7th year!! I TOLD YOU!!"
"Whatever Mar, I don't like him" I said and stopped mid sentence when I saw the withering glare that Marlene was giving me "that much. I don't like him that much." I said fixing mistake.
"I'm so exited!!!!!" Mary said squealing like a little girl.
"If anyone says anything about what has happened here to anyone, I will kill you!!" I said in my most threading tone. Mary and Alice looked genuinely frightened, Mar however just giggled and said "Let's go. I don't want to miss the feast!" And hopped out of the carriage before it came to a complete stop.
