James POV

When I woke up early the next morning I was surprised to find that Lily was nowhere to be found. I mean, I know she's in the liberty a lot but this is way to early to be in the presence of Madame Pince. I laid down on the couch in the common room for a while before deciding to finally get up and take a shower. I grabbed my shampoo and soap and hopped in the shower. Sirius always made fun of me for caring about what shampoo I used but it's not like he's any better. At least I don't use conditioner in my hair. Besides, my dad always said that women like good smelling men, which has so far always worked to my advantage, so why stop now when I'm sharing the same dorm as Evans?
I got out, grabbed one of the folded, red towels sitting in the bathroom, and wrapped it around my waist. I ran a hand through my wet hair as I stepped out of the bathroom only to have something slam into my chest. Stumbling backward, I put one hand in the doorframe and one hand on whatever ran into me to steady myself. I looked up to see a sweaty Lily Evans staring back up at me, pink creeping up her cheeks. She was wearing a tight tank top, tight black pants, and tennis shoes. She looked amazing, I thought and then quickly reminded myself to get my head back to where it should be, not on how hot she looked all sweaty or on how great her curves looked in that tight top or on how my hand was still on her waist and she wasn't screaming at me. We're friends, I said to myself. Friends can touch each other without getting yelled at.
"Sorry Lils," I said my hand dropping from her waist.
"No, I should have been paying more attention, sorry." She said taking a step back so she wasn't on top of me.
"Where were you?" I asked "I'm going to take a wild guess and say that it wasn't the library." I said with a smirk.
"Oh, uh no. I was just on a run." She said with a small laugh, blushing slightly.
"I didn't know you ran."
"Oh, ya it's just something I do. Helps me clear my mind, and stuff."
"Cool." I said lamely " Well I'll let you be." I said with a smile as I walked away to my room to get dressed. I had to tell Sirius what happened.

Lily POV
I slipped into the bathroom and closed the door, sliding down it and sitting on the floor. Merlin, James was bloody gorgeous! The whole time I was talking to him all I could think was 'don't look at his chest, look at his eyes!!'. I knew he was fit from hours of playing quidditch, but damn Potter!! I shook my head as if I could shake out the memory of James Potter in only a towel. I stripped and got in the shower, enjoying the feel of the water turning from cold to hot as I put my head under the stream of water coming down from above. The shower smelt like him and his shampoo. I never would have told anyone, but I have loved the way his soap smelled since fourth year.  Slightly sweet and citrusy but undeniably male.  Again I tried to dislodge any thoughts of James from my head and grabbed my own shampoo. It smelt lightly of roses and was always calming. Mar always wanted to know why I smelt like roses when my name was Lily, which always lead to me shaking my head and rolling my eyes. I rinsed conditioner out of my long red locks and got out of the shower, mentally prepping myself for another day as I wrapped myself in a towel and scampered to my room.
I quickly threw on my robes and waved my wand at my hair, drying it and letting the piles of dark red hair tumble down my back in waves. I threw my bag over my shoulder and walked out of the common room tying my tie and went. Just as the portrait was about to close James slipped out of it, and I noticed a book in his hand as he jogged towards me.
"I thought you would have been down at breakfast already Potter. I didn't know you spent so much time on your hair." I said jokingly as I finished my tie.
"Ha ha ha, very funny Evans. If you must know, I forgot one of my books in my room and I had to go back for it."
I gasped dramatically "James Potter brings books to class?!"
"Yes actually. Contrary to common beliefs I don't just know everything. I occasionally need to consult a book." He replied sarcastically.
"Occasionally?"
"Occasionally."
I laughed as we entered the great hall and found out our friends. I found a spot next to Marlene and Remus and grabbed an apple and a piece of toast.
"Here's your timetable." Marlene said shoving a piece of paper in my face.
"Thanks." I said through a mouthful of Apple, causing Remus to give me a slight smirk. I made a face back at him and went back to looking at my timetable, taking a bite of toast at I did.
"We all a have most of our classes together," Alice said smiling, looking away from Frank for once.
"Good! You know how much I miss you all when we're apart!" Sirius said clutching at his chest. I rolled my eyes and laughed with everyone else as we got up from our spot at griffindore table and started walking to our classes.
