When Worlds Collide

Chapter Forty-Five

 While Annabeth and Percy were out looking for Brom, he was looking for them too. He had cleared the area of enemies, with the help of his friend, whose name was Oromis. They started back to the infirmary, hoping to meet them there.

"I think that it is safe. I cannot stay. Good bye friend." Oromis said, turning to Brom.

"Hopefully we will see each other again, after this is over." Brom replied.

"We may only hope in these troubled times." Oromis said. And with that he turned, jumped on his dragon who was walking along beside them, and was gone.

When Brom finally saw the infirmary in the distance, Annabeth and Percy were gone. He continued walking toward it, then stopped. What was that? It looked like somebody was creeping their way toward the infirmary. Brom started to sprint for it. The person slipped inside.

 Inside, Katniss was sobbing into Gale's shoulder, hoping for the best. Due to her crying, she did not hear the figure creep into the tent. It was Drago, alive, but wounded. He wanted revenge on the man who tried to kill him, and he would have it. In his hand he held a peacekeeper's gun, as there were plenty of those on the ground after the fight. He crept silently up to Katniss. Drago raised the gun and brought the butt down on her head, hard. With a grunt of pain, he picked her up and dropped her unceremoniously on the ground, on the other side of the tent. He turned back to finish Gale off. He never heard Brom enter, but he did feel the pain of his sword, entering through his back and into his heart. Drago fell to the ground, unmoving. A golden cloud seeped out of his mouth, the spirit of the titan Kronos.

"Brisingr." Brom said, engulfing the cloud in flames. There was an unearthly shriek, and when the flames cleared, there was nothing left.
