The Homecoming

"MOM!"Leah cried out as Rianna took out her camera."A little family photo never hurts ,Leah.Besides this is the first time that you're goin' out of the country ! How exciting! My little child is growin' up."

"Mom..!Okay, okay don't start with that.A photo for you madame",she grabbed the camera and handed it to Rhea,her best friend (who'd been watching all this family drama). "A photo,please! "

"Sure !"Rhea grinned at her.As they went to the airport , Leah couldn't get her eyes of the sky."I wonder how its like up there.You know the stars and galaxies ,the mysterious black hole! Isn't it so interesting.Feels like I've lived up there for the whole time".

Rhea couldn't bare the thought of her own best friend blurting out."Umm..Leah? We're kinda goin' on a fun trip..Like a "FUN" trip..with all our friends.and geeky thoughts and weird science facts are among the last thin' I want right now" .Leah smiled at her,She'd always appreciated Rhea.She was the only person who really cared for her,apart from her mother.She was even beautiful,the kind of beauty that Leah had always admired.Smooth dark skin,with soft curly hair, a crescent moon tattoo on her hand and a smile that could just remind you of merry Christmases.

The whole group had come before they arrived at the airport.After all the long goodbyes,hugs and kisses , they went in."Bye Mom! Will come home soon!"Leah called out as she waved at her mom .

"Be safe dear ! " Rianna called out and turned back ."Besides you're not leaving home , you're going home."she muttered with a smile.

Leah and her friends soon entered the flight.Her group of friends consisted of five people. Shane,a tall, muscular guy , one of the heartthrobs of her school aka Rhea's boyfriend .And then there was Karen and Brian , twins who had a totally different characters. Leah was a bit nervous for her first flight , but when the flight went higher and higher , she felt a strange comfort.

"Your necklace",Rhea whispered.She looked at Leah with a sort of worry."Does it glow ?"

"Um. ?Glow ? No.. it doesn't .You know that,right?"

"Its glowin' ,Leah.Look at it."Rhea pointed at the necklace , the one that had been with Leah , since childhood.It was glowing , a deep blue with shades of silver , glittering inside."What the-?" 

"Ouch! "Rhea startled with pain.

"What's wrong?"Leah asked.

"Nah.. just my tattoo.Guess it was done badly cuz it keeps on paining sometimes.Don't mind that.But your necklace.I dont get it, does it have some kinda battery or somethin inside it?" she asked.

"I..I need a moment.I'll be back soon."Leah said and marched towards the restroom.Rhea followed her , feeling something weird going on.She stared at her reflection in the mirror.Something was surely changing.She touched her necklace and then something suddenly happened .She felt a strong force grabbing her , she couldn't understand what it was.A storm was forming around her."Rheaa ! " She shouted out.Rhea broke in , only to see her friend shouting out in pain.

"Grab my hand Leah! TAKE MY HAND.. !NOW!!" Just as Leah took her hand , a white light grew large , and then there was no sign of both of them.It was too late.

Back at the flight , their friends were having a good time."Hey Karen , you seen Rhea and Leah?They've been gone for a lot of time ."Shane asked Karen. "Leah ? Who's that? Who's Rhea? I thought we three were the ones going for the trip ? Now who are those two Shane?"Karen asked in wonder.

"Now dont play with me.You know them obviously.We were a gang at school."

"No we don't , shane.What are you talking about?" Brian asked suspiciously."Man , you should just calm down , okay.And don't play serious jokes now."

Shane felt a cold shiver down his spine.Had his friends really forgotten about both Leah and his girlfriend Rhea? He couldn't understand.But he felt an urge to not stop.How could something as such happen?He sat down immersed in thoughts.
