The Reaping Balls

We start to leave the house when Gale stops me.

     "We need to talk"

     "You'll need to make it really quick because we're leaving for Reaping Day."  sigh***

     "Well, this is important, so, yeah it's worth it. I just wanted to tell you sorry about this morning. I should've listened to you and just ran away. I've been thinking today and now I agree."

     "Don't you think it's kinda late now? We're heading to the Reaping Ceremony. And-"

     "Hey, it's almost time for the Reaping Ceremony to start!" says Prim vagely

     " I know, I know! Let me just talk to Gale real quick. I promise it'll be real quick."

     " You were saying?" says Gale

     "Oh yeah, I need to leave, I'm sorry. I'll talk to you later after the ceremony."

All of a sudden, I hear a bunch of loud horns blaring which signifies the starting of the Reaping Ceremony.

     "Well, gotta go!" I say tenebrously

     "I'm super nervous, Katniss." says Prim with tears in her eyes

     "I know you are, but I promise you that you're not going into those freaking Hunger Games."

     "Thank you, Katniss."

And then we separated into the girls and boys groups at the Reapin Ceremony just as the ceremony began.

     "Good morning, everyone and welcome to the 74th annual Hunger Games! Of course, may the odds be ever in your favor!"  That was Effie with her bright pink wig again.

There were giant screens everywhere, showing the stage on which Effie was standing. I knew that the Capitol was recording us, and when I was lookin around and focused on the Reaping Balls, I was terrified. I never know if my name will be pulled, and that's why I pray that I won't. But what's more important this year, is that I'm even more terrified that Prim's name will be pulled.
