It had been two weeks since the attempt. Jon's was already improving during the first few days, so his parents sent him back to school. Jon hadn't been getting into trouble lately thanks to Sock helping him out. For the first time in a long time, Jon was happy with his life. Sock's personality seemed to fit the role of an angel more than that of a demon, despite Sock being a bit mischievous. In fact, Jonathan sort of considered him as a friend.
Jon was having his usual lunch, which consisted of a single ham sandwich. Sock, with wings folded, rocked back and forth as he watched the blonde eat.
"How ya doin', Jonathan?" Sock had been asking this question a lot lately. He meant well, but being an angel didn't change the fact that he could be very annoying. Jon sighed.
"It's like I've been telling you for the past two weeks, I'm doing alright."
"Okay, good," Sock's typical dopey smile grew a bit wider, "How's that sandwich?""Amazing."
"If it's so good, then why aren't you smiling?"
"Just because you like something doesn't mean you smile whenever you're near it.""Hmph," Sock pouted, He wanted the blonde to smile, "I bet I can get you to smile!"
"We'll see about that." He seemed to be a bit amused. The angel's plan was working.
Sock drifted over to a girl at a nearby table and picked up her open fruit cup, she was too busy talking to her friends to notice the floating fruit. Sock threw it at a boy at a nearby table. The boy stood up and threw mashed potatoes at the girl, getting in caked in her hair. The girl squealed and stood up. Everybody stared at the girl. Then, all Hell broke loose.
Teens were flinging food left and right, Jon included. They didn't care whether or not they got in trouble, they were just feeling the adrenaline rush through their bodies as they splattered themselves, the tables, and the walls with the food.
Sock looked back at Jon, he was smiling. Sock giggled. He hadn't seen Jon smile much, but he found it to be one of the best smiles he'd ever seen just from how rare it was alone. Another factor was the pure joy that radiated from it. Sock's halo glowed.
