It had been a few hours since the pancake incident, and Jonathan and Sock were hanging out, just chatting about music, movies, and whatever else came to mind. The phone rang out of nowhere, Sock willingly fetched it for Jon. It was his Mom.
Jon moved to the kitchen. Sock didn't know what Jon was saying, but he could see His mood suddenly turn melancholy. This was almost as bad as the night Sock had saved him.
The boy walked back towards his angelic buddy as he hung up his phone.
"My dad is coming home."
"Your dad?" Sock tilted his head and raises an eyebrow.
"Yeah, he's a bad man, I'm surprised that he's coming to live with us again. Last I heard, he had a new family that he could fuck up that wasn't mine." Sock sat there a moment, floating in the air. His relationship with either of his parents was good and healthy, he couldn't imagine how his friend must have felt. Jonathan shrugged his shoulders as if to say "forget about it for now." The duo sat on the couch and listened to some Valhalla Soundbox to try and drive away their worries. It wasn't working for Sock, and he assumed it wasn't working for Jon either.
