Lockewood led me back to the room where I was formally to be introduced to the other members of the Politia. Tobias and I took our seats sitting together and waited for his introductions to begin.
"First I must explain to you each division within our group and each job that they consist of. Firstly there are the Enriched Ones and that is my department. It is a job for usually around two to four people who mainly are known as either Bookkeepers as I am or Chroniclers. We have the esteemed job of reading through the ancient archives and learning from previous histories and foretelling what the outcome of the present Games. The next division are the Hunters. They are the warriors of the group if you will, mostly known as Watchmen and Women. Although we as a group do not interfere in any way with the Game their sole purpose is to gather the information and follow each player until their deaths for recording purposes. They are never to make interaction. Lastly is the position as the Messenger. Since we have different sanctions for different players we like to correspond from time to time and give information when the time presents itself useful to the other sanction. And to do so we like to usually only use one person as it will create less chaos if we are ever to be found out."
It was a lot to take in but I realized that everything within the secret organization had a purpose. There was no job that could be done solely without the other department, so they all worked upon one another and depended on the other. To me it reminded me of a ticking clock. Underneath the surface it may not seem too complicated yet under the surface were many cogs and screws and pieces that depended on the other in order to function properly. It was perfect.
Lockewood resumed his introduction and gestured to a warm looking woman maybe a few years my elder who had short dark hair and the deepest brown eyes I had ever seen. "This is Primrose Caesurae, a chronicler." She waived a little shyly and I gave her a curt nod moving on to the next person which was a solemn looking man.
"This is Dustin, a watchman." Dustin was standing in the corner of the room unlike the others who all sat and I realized that he was the one from earlier that stood brooding as well. I din't have time to think on this further as Lockewood kept speaking.
"And his twin siblings Danielle and Derik, both are watchmen as well." I looked over to where they sat together across form me on my right and they looked startlingly alike their twin brother Dustin. They reassembled him with their golden curled heads and bright sky blue eyes, I think any person walking next to them would call them angels as that is what they most resembled within my imagination.
"There is one last person that consists within our group but it seems that she is not-"
"She is right here!" A young woman around my age gasped with breath as she thundered inside. She was around my height with red hair that swayed along her waistline. She was absolutely stunning and I was surprised to find myself jealous of her beautiful olive skin and green eyes.
"Ah thank you Analeigh for joining us today!" Her name suited her for I recognized it's meaning, grace and beauty much like what my own meant. Not very often do I find myself in this situation where I am not obviously the most becoming woman in the room but in here I had two opponents and I would be lying if I didn't say that I wasn't a little put off by that.
I may be Arcana, a godlike player in a ruthless Game but that doesn't I didn't have some unbecoming qualities in my personality. But don't worry, I'm working on it.
As Lockewood concluded with the ceremonious name giving session I noticed Analeigh sat down next to me and was eyeing me up as if to gage my own beauty in comparison to hers,
