"Something is wrong."

Itachi slides his gaze away from the papers on his desk and onto his younger brother. He wears a deep frown, his usual expression of neutrality now replaced by anger. It's been that way for a month now, and he can only speculate as to what it is.

"She refuses to do anything with the wedding, and Madara has completely taken over because of it," Sasuke huffs and reclines in his chair.

"What is her excuse for not participating in her own wedding planning?" Itachi sets down his pen in a neat fashion and focuses his attention on Sasuke. He's interested now, fully invested in the issue.

Sasuke releases another sigh as he recalls your conversations with him. "She said that she had a lot to focus on with her career and can't make it to all the appointments. She even went as far as saying that it was best to have Madara plan it."

"Do you think she's hiding something?"

"Yeah."

"...Why don't you ask Naruto?" At the sound of his friend's name, Sasuke tilts his head as his eyebrows knit together with confusion, prompting Itachi to elaborate. "He was with her after I left."

"That idiot joined you guys for the food testing?" He rolls his eyes as he sneers.

"[Name] invited him. He appeared to have a lot of free time on his hands... What I find odd is that he acquired a job the next day interning for Minister Jiraya, despite the lack of completion of his resumes and applications."

"Yeah, that confused me as well." Sasuke scratches his cheek at the thought of it. He's been so preoccupied in worrying about you that he's forgotten to ask Naruto about his new job. "I guess I'll go ask him them..."

________

Sigh after sigh escapes you. With a tub of icecream on your lap, you admire the city skyline as the sun begins to set. Deep oranges, reds and yellows paint half the sky, while the other half is littered with purples and pinks. It's a breathtaking view as always, but the sky's tones of serenity is lost upon you.

This is the sight only a particular person can witness, one with power and fortune. You should be finding yourself lucky to be somewhat connected to these kind of people. Just by association, you acquired the rewards they worked so hard on... But why does it feel like you're suffocating?

Your emotions get the better of you, and to sustain your calm demeanor, you take another spoonful of icecream. A brain freeze is imminent but you don't care. It's a lot less painful than the hurt you feel right now.

You look over your shoulder and scan the messy penthouse. All your picture boards for every upcoming wedding decorate your living room; to your relief, Sasuke didn't seem to mind too much of the mess--mostly because he took refuge in the study room and avoided the disaster you had created.

You inspect each board. Although they are all unique and contrasted greatly with each other, they still hold the same purpose: to visualize your client's wishes for their special day. Their dreams were being realized on cardboard, and it was your job to push those dreams into reality. As beautiful as the sentiment was, it also reminded you of something. That you were in no position to make your dreams a reality.

Another spoonful of ice cream. Another brain freeze ensues.

When you hear a knock on your door, you pause your pity party. Because of the high end security, no one was allowed to knock on your door unless you had already buzzed the person into the actual building. Since you hadn't done so, it could either be a neighbor or the parcel service. You glance at the clock on the wall, and you dub it to be the parcel service since they usually arrive at that time. You scoot off the couch and sprint for the door.
