Chapter 4

Sasuke wasted no time in heading to your apartment. During his travel there, he began to notice several disturbances that could potentially put you in danger. There was no security at the door; the building has an abandoned alley next to the door; there were barely any cameras; the front desk woman allowed anyone into the stairs and elevators.

The list went on, and the longer it got, the more he hurried. Sure, you took some self-defense classes and have two bottles of mace in your purse, but he couldn't help but think of the worst. Though it appeared that his suspicions were correct when he arrived at your apartment door.

It was somewhat cracked open and your flimsy jacket was on the floor. His heart sunk at the thought of what could have happened. This whole scene was just like those in the movies where the heroine got kidnapped with the culprits leaving the door open. That always meant that there was a struggle and the heroine was in danger.

Sasuke's hands shook with fury. If they so much as laid a finger on you---

"BELIEVE IT!!"

He froze. That obnoxious voice. That obnoxious laughter. That obnoxious catchphrase...

Sasuke kicked the door open, stomping over to where he heard that voice. His eyes landed upon the idiot blonde whom was gleefully chatting with you. The both of you were laughing and enjoying a glass of wine, while here he was having a heart attack.

"What are you doing here?" Sasuke growled out.

You both flinched and turned your heads slowly to face the angry Uchiha. You were the first to respond, knowing that you weren't in any trouble. "Finally, you're home!"

You skipped over to his form and captured his lips sensually. He accepted your greeting but maintained a firm glare on Naruto.

The blonde laughed nervously at his friend's intimidating stare. "Haha... What's up?"

"Why. Are. You. Here?" Sasuke enunciated every word to express his lack of patience.

"To uhhh congratulate you! Congrats on finally settling down!" Naruto's enthusiasm was forced, and it irritated the Uchiha.

"Aaaand he needs a place to crash," you added. Truth be told, that was the only reason why he visited but that would only add fuel to the fire if it came out of Naruto's mouth.

"Get out--"

"But this is my apartment," you cut off Sasuke. "I want to help Naruto since he went through a nasty break-up."

Naruto smiled sheepishly. "It isn't like that."

"You were an idiot for moving into her apartment in the first place," Sasuke huffed.

"Hey! If it didn't work out between [Name] and you, you would have been kicked out too!" Naruto exclaimed defensively.

"It's because I knew she wasn't going anywhere."

"What's that supposed to mean?" you grumbled.

"It means that Sasuke would die without you," Naruto laughed in a patronizing manner.

Sasuke crossed his arms, "I'm not having this conversation. Just kick him out already."

"Aw come on! I'll be a great roommate until I find a place to stay," Naruto whined.

"Liar," Sasuke rolled his eyes. "Don't you have other friends you can go to?"

"They don't live in the city."

"Why do you need to be in this city then?"

"Because I'm starting over!"

You watched their banter with a small smile on your lips. You would let this go on, but it was late and you were tired. "Sasuke," you stepped in, "shouldn't we be friendly rather than hostile with Naruto's situation?"
