"No. No... Absolutely not," you droned as you clicked through pictures of bridal themes for your client.
After the disastrous dinner where your mom stated her clear disapproval of your engagement, a month has passed. You weren't expecting her reaction to affect you that much, but being comforted by Sasuke made your heart at ease. That woman could go screw herself while you marry the man you truly love. End of story.
You also didn't have the time to think about your mother. With summer just around the corner, you had been completely booked every single weekend for summer weddings. It happened every year, but this year was special. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were all taken-- each with two to three weddings per day. To make every wedding different, you had to buy a shit ton of magazines and scroll through the internet for references or else everything would look the same.
It didn't help that the paparazzi were still going ballistic about your recent engagement to Sasuke. You noticed that the hate mail exceeded your expectations, but you had your assistant clean up all that junk so that you could continue with your work. You learned long ago that reading them was not an option.
"[Name]," you heard someone call you. You glanced up from your laptop and noticed your secretary poking her head in. "Your fiancé is on line 2."
You nodded and quickly picked up the phone. You pressed your back against the cushioned chair and let out a long sigh, "What's up?"
"Do you have some free time?" came Sasuke's annoyed voice.
You furrowed your eyebrows as you glanced at your schedule. You still had to gather references for the event tomorrow and meet up with another client to visit three venues with them. "Noooo, not really."
"Make time." He seemed agitated.
"Uhh, I'll see if my assistant can meet up with the Levi's," you hummed as you began typing on your cellphone. "But can you give me a good reason as to why I'm changing my schedule around?"
"My father wants to see you now. It's urgent."
Your lips formed a thin line as you pondered on what his father would want with you. When Sasuke and you went over his parents' house for the Sunday luncheon, both his parents expressed their absolute joy on the matter. They were the only parents that adored you, and to see you marrying their son was something they always wanted. Surely, they didn't backtrack and were beginning to doubt your relationship.
It was like Sasuke knew what you were thinking, and he sighed. "Don't overthink it. It's probably something else."
You let out a shaky laugh, "Y-Yeah, of course."

Riding up the elevator to the top floor, you gave yourself one last overall look in the mirror. You redid your makeup, fixed up your hair a little, and stopped by an outlet store super quick to change your coffee-stained blouse. Your pencil skirt was a bit tight but manageable to walk in. You looked decent enough to fit in with the Uchiha's...
The second you stepped foot on the last floor, you noticed a row of bodyguards lining the hallway. You paused to glance at the floor level to see if you were in the wrong floor, but you were actually at the right place. Hesitantly, you traveled past the bodyguards and towards the main secretary.
She instantly recognized you and sent you a nod to go inside. The woman seemed nervous, which only fueled your curiosity. If she was used to working with the CEO of the Uchiha company, why was she acting like this?
Without questioning the woman, you sauntered over to the double doors and opened them. When your heels clicked against the tiled floors, everyone inside the spacious office turned to glance at you. Your eyes met several onyx orbs, but one in particular caught your interest.
