Streamclan's Destiny: The Quest

Chapter 4

The sun's warmth seeped into Streamtail's pelt as she padded side by side with Icepaw. They were heading towards the Cloudclan border.

"Are you sure there are rocks in Cloudclan?" Icepaw meowed. Streamtail flicked her ears.

"Yes, I'm sure," Streamtail hissed. They reached the border. The streams fed the small river that went into Cloudclan territory. Icepaw crossed the river, her paws churning the water and pushing her forward easily. She stepped on the sandy bank on the other side.

"Are you coming Streamtail?" She mewed impatiently. Streamtail followed and met her on the bank. She flicked her tail for Icepaw to follow her. Streamtail pricked her ears for danger and padded cautiously into the rich forest. Icepaw lashed her tail.

"Do you have something on your mind?" Streamtail asked her.

"Yes, I don't see any rocks," Icepaw meowed as she thumped her tail of the ground. Streamtail just rolled her eyes.

"Of course you don't. We aren't there yet. You have to be patient Icepaw," Streamtail meowed calmly. Icepaw nodded. They continued through the forest. Streamtail halted and scented the air. She looked over at Icepaw. Brambles, she mouthed and flicked her tail towards a patch by a birch tree. They hid and waited. The Cloudclan patrol walked by clearly going back to camp. Streamtail recognized Bluefeather, Speckleclaw, and Snowtail. Darkfern seems to trust Snowtail. Maybe I can, too. Snowtail slowed to back of the patrol. Streamtail hissed quietly as Snowtail passed the bush Icepaw and her were hiding in. Snowtail stopped.

"I'm going to go for a walk. You can head back to camp," Snowtail meowed to the patrol. Bluefeather and Speckleclaw disappeared around a tree. Snowtail scented the air.

"Streamtail?" Snowtail whispered. Streamtail out of the bush.

"And Icepaw," Icepaw mewed and she came out to stand beside Streamtail. Streamtail dipped her head.

"I wanted to ask you if you could help us," Streamtail meowed. Snowtail sat down and wrapped his tail over his paws.

"For Foxstar and Streamclan?" Snowtail asked. Icepaw shook her head, but Streamtail replied.

"No, just Icepaw and I," Streamtail flicked her ear. Icepaw twitched her whiskers.

"What do you need?" Snowtail purred.

"Can you show us where the rocks are in your territory? We're on an important mission," Icepaw meowed. Snowtail nodded and flicked his tail for them to follow. We stealthily padded through the forest and down the river bank.

"We're near the end of the territory," Snowtail meowed. We padded a little farther before Snowtail stopped.

"This is the border. It'll a few days to get there, but beyond here there are rocks and boulders," Snowtail meowed. Streamtail and Icepaw set off through the border. Streamtail and Icepaw padded close to each other with their fur brushing. They were only just beginning their search through the territories. Streamtail looked back to see Snowtail's frosty pelt disappear behind the bushes.
