Brandon scurried through the undergrowth as fast as he could.
His ears picked up screams echoing from lower in the valley.
He tensed, alert.
Slowly, he unsheathed his scythe.
The screaming suddenly stopped.
Confused and curious, he climbed carefully down the hill.
Through the trees, he could make out a black figure scurrying around.
A Grimm.
He climbed faster down the hill.
Finally, he landed gracefully at the bottom.
He charged into the clearing, scythe raised, ready for combat.
A girl with blond hair lay unconscious on the ground. A Grimm wolf marched around proudly.
The moment it saw Brandon it leaped at him, growling and spitting.
He twirled his scythe and launched at the Grimm wolf. He swung his scythe around and landed a hard hit on the head to the Grimm, throwing it off balance. It roared, startled, and fell upon its back.
Brandon took the advantage to slice open it's belly and cut off it's head.
He turned around to the girl, and examined her more closely.
She had long blond hair that fell just past her waist. She was wearing a short pink dress, and had some bright red lipstick in her hand that was applied to only one lip. She must've been knocked out while applying it.
Where's her weapon? He thought.
Just then her eyes shot open.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" she yelled.
She looked at Brandon then the Grimm lying dead on the ground.
"AHHHHHHHHHH-" he shoved a hand on her mouth.
"I'm not going to hurt you." he said calmly. "You got knocked out. You're in the Emerald forest, remember? The initiation? The launching?"
She slowly nodded.
He took his hand off her mouth.
He had smudged her lipstick. She touched her lip tenderly.
"What's your name?" He asked.
She narrowed her bright blue eyes, as if still mad for him smudging her lipstick.
"Brittany Kovera." she said a matter- of- factly.
"Brandon Michael." he said, helping her up.
"Where's your weapon?" he asked.
She held up her lipstick.
"It's top- notch technology." she bragged.
He wrinkled his nose.
She rolled her eyes and explained:
"If you twist this little notch at the bottom-- see right here-- and it turns a different color. Blue, white, green, red, purple, or yellow. Each color represents a different element, and then lets me harness that element and use it to my advantage. Red is fire, Blue is water, Green is Earth, Purple is Shadow, White is Ice, and Yellow is electricity."
"Well.... That's sorta overpowered." Brandon said slowly after a moment of stunned silence.
"Yep, indeed. Now let's go find the others."
~
"Whew, that was tough!" exclaimed Violet.
Asuki wiped beads of sweat from her forehead.
"Your weapon is so amazing!!" Violet exclaimed as Asuki sheathed her weapon.
"I know."
Violet raised an eyebrow.
"Kidding."
Violet nodded and put two fingers up to the sky.
"We should get going. There's not much time until noon, which is when lunch is served at Beacon. I would rather not miss that." she said.
"Don't forget the team ceremony!" squealed Asuki.
"How could I?" Violet asked.
"Seriously, we should go." She said.
"Which way, though?" Violet responded.
"Uhh.............. I'll go check." Asuki said, activating her semblance. "Engage Ariel surveillance!"
Violet laughed as she flew up for a good look at their surroundings.

"Don't- I'm in a mood."
Brittany entered her eighth mood on this trail alone.
Brandon sighed and took another step forward. His feet ached from tripping on roots.
Brittany had located a trail made by former students to the temple, and was leading them down a trail.
He wished Brittany would let him talk. She threatened him with her lipstick every time he spoke while she was in a mood.
Finally, she broke out of her mood and shot down the path into a clearing.
The temple sits on the end of it, with shining chess pieces lined up in a half circle inside.
Brandon sighed with relief and collapsed, exhausted.
Brittany strolled over boasting a large rook in her hands.
"We win. We're the first ones here."
She announced proudly.
"That's not exactly how it works...."
"We win. We win. Shut up because WE WIN." she dropped the rook on my chest.
"Ow." Brandon said.
"What now?" she sighed, looking around.
Just then, three figures ran out of the woods:
-Asuki
-A girl with purple hair.
-A giant scorpion.
"Holy sh---" Brandon was cut off when he was nearly stabbed to death by the thing.
He rolled over and stood, unsheathing his scythe. Brittany messily applied some red lipstick and summoned fire to the scorpion. It made a noise that was screech- like and stepped backwards. The purple haired girl leaped apon the scorpions back and used hooks and scales jutting out on its tail to climb up next to the barb. Then he noticed something- her vest was made of metal. She squeezed the bottom and it quickly transformed into a huge, purple hammer. Then she leaped over the barb gracefully, and landed hammer first on the scorpions head.
This stunned the scorpion momentarily.
Brandon used his scythe to cut off the scorpions legs. Brittany then applied white lipstick. She froze the tail so that it couldn't move, and the surrounded it with ice. She then made a pair of ice skates made of, well, ice appear on her feet. She started skating in a fast circle around the scorpion, confusing it. Asuki took this chance to strike. It was hard to make out her weapon in the icy storm, but it was too difficult. Moments later, the barb had been sliced from the scorpion and plunged into its own back.
Panting, we all collapsed.
"Well," Brandon said after a minute. "At least I saved our idol."
Brittany glared at him.
"In a mood?" he guessed.
"Most definitely." She said.

You will never know Asuki's weapon! MUAHAHA
