I Can't Believe This

After Charles coded he was fine his blood pressure is still a little high but he was fine he stayed a sleep for a while after the doctors helped him. And not surprisingly Ashley stayed by his side not leaving him for one moment. Ashley wondered if everything she was doing right, being with him when she should be home with her real family.

She started feeling guilty and she got her purse and started to leave but she heard a moaning sound an she turned around to Charles waking up. She hurried to his side with a smile an ready to embrace him with open arms. He was happy that the first face he was able to see was Ashley.

Charles:Hi. *smile *

Ashley:How are you feeling? *rubbing her hands through his hair*

Charles: Not the best. But you know I will get better soon. I promise.

Ashley: I know you will. Listen we had the court meeting today.

Charles: Just tell me straight. How much time did he get?

Ashley:It's not him the court is worried about. It's you.

Charles: Me?? What are you talking about??

Ashley: Kevin passed the test. And in court he asked who did he think was the man who molested my daughter and he said you.

Charles grunts and sits up more in his uncomfortable hospital bed and he reached his hand out for Ashley while she was crying.

Charles: Ash, take my hand. Listen I love you. Just grab my hand. I am asking for you too have faith in me.

Ashley: No! I did believe you. But now I don't know who you have become.

Charles still has his hand out that Ashley hasn't even bothered to look at. She walked away from him towards the window overlooking the city streets.

Charles: I'm still him. I'm still the man you married.

Ashley shakes her head no

Charles: Yes. Yes. Yes, it's me. You can forgive me. I know you can, we can fix this. We can make it right again.

Ashley walked towards him and she looked down at the ring he gave her on their wedding day. Ashley had a white diamond 1/8 ring. She started to twist the ring slowly off of her hand and Charles looked at her in pain and agony and he felt a tear drop leave his left eye.

Charle: Ash, please we can fix it.

Ashley stopped and looked at him

Ashley: There is nothing to fix.

Ashley forced the ring off her finger and walked away but before she left the room she put the ring at his feet. They stared at each other Charles had tears flowing like a river out of his eyes. He uttered the word Ashley and she walked out of the room and not looking back. He cried an he had chest pains but he didn't care about it because he knew he lost a great woman.
