The Dinner

I sit down at the table as Tris helps Adam get the plates.I stare at my knife and fork as everyone babbles on about whatever it is then I feel a a finger press into my arm-Tris poking me-and I look at her"you ok or are you just fantasizing about you and you know who"I scowl at her "I'm fine and no im not im trying to be normal like you and Adam said"I say it mocking her stare.Tobias whispers to his parents then gets up and walks down the hall,as he walks away I look up and see just the back of his head then nothing as he turns the corner to the bathroom."Mum do you need any help in the kitchen?"I say "sure i would love some help i need two helpers would you like to help us with the cooking Tobias?"Mum says this as soon as he gets back and I only just hear him say "sure". As I get into the kitchen with mum and Tobias following me I get the grater and start with the cheese Tobias comes over to help me and I jerk backwards "wow im not going to hurt you"he says with a smirk,"sorry I'm just not used to help or being around random people"I say a smile forming around my lips.I sit down at the table next to Tris,she's smirking at something Adam just said I look around the table my eyes landing on Tobias he picks up the carrots and passes them around and then his eyes catch mine for just a second be-four I go all red and and look at my food then I just block out the noise and eat blankly doing nothing but using my knife and fork.

I say goodbye then run to my room shutting the door behind me Tris walks in smirking and I stare at her."What was that Emmy you blanked out on everyone"Tris says looking stern "what i was just trying to not be noted!"I say shuffling into my bed and sticking my face in my pillows and without meaning to I fall asleep.I wake up to Adam trying-and falling-to sing "what the hell do you want?" "school get ready!"he sings it badly "GET OUT!" I shout throwing the pillow that was under my head at him.I walk into school with Tris by my side babbling about makeup again and then I see Tobias walking this way towards us "Hey Tris mind if i talk to Emmy for a bit?"Tobias says smirking at me "sure Cya at forth period Em". We walk down the hall side by side "hey so the dinner was nice though you didn't speak or look up at all what-so-ever"he says his smile wide "yeah mind if we don't talk about that it's just a habit"I smile a bit "yeah sure ok so umm a couple of my friends and I are all going out to the movies tomorrow night and i was wondering if you wanted to come you can bring Tris if you want it's just me and Oliver and Eddie"he says looking at my face everywhere but my eyes,"sure that sounds like fun but Tris and I were going to stay at my place so I will have to get back to you"just as I say that my phone rings I look at it from my hand and it's Tris-of coarse she followed us-"ok hold that thought i need to take this" he nods and I walk to the other wall."...But Tris I thought it was girls night?"I say like im pleading her not to let me go "I don't care your going now tell him,I got to go bye"she hangs up be-four I can answer and so I walk back to Tobias "yeah umm Tris has to-cancel family things-so sounds good what time do we meet and where?"I say trying to act normal but inside im bursting with joy,"I can pick you up if you want I don't mind" "sure what time?" "I'll give you my phone number then you can text me when you want and we can see what time"he says this like it's just going to be us on a date "sure ok then you can ask Oliver and Eddie"I say trying to remind my self-and him-that there will be others there "ok well see you around then" "sure ok bye"I finish my sentence as soon as he starts towards the other side of them room back to his friends and Tris comes to my side and smirks.
