"Hey Annie, do you ever think about what you wanna do with your life" Jake asked while running his fingers though her wild and untamable mane of hair.

"Ouch. Tryin to pull my hair out or what cowboy? And yeah I do, I mean isn't that what we're supposed to be doin anyway with this project Mr. Ritter gave us?" Annie asked waving a sheet of instructions around and chewing on the battered and severely abused yellow number two pencil.

Jake leaned back in the chair at the old rickety oak kitchen table his dad had built years before he was born and grunted "no I mean what you really wanna do in life, not what ever half assed horse crap most people are gonna slop down. I know I'm gonna be working here helpin my dad out with the cattle and horses, but you never really told me what you want to do."

Annie leaned forward on the table and looked over what she had already written down "Well my paper says go to college so I guess you know, go to college"

" And do what? Study what?"

Annie huffed and turned to squint at Jake "If this is about me not wanting to do photography you know darn well why I won't so just drop it Jake McAllister"

Jake sighed and stood up. Grabbing the untouched glass of sweet tea, he headed to the kitchen sink and dumped its sugary contents. "You know Annie Claire Hannagan, life isn't about making money. Sure it helps you in life but it won't always make you happy. I gotta go take care of the horses, why don't you head on home before it gets dark and your grandma forms a search party again."

BANG

"What the heck was that" Annie asked alarmedly while searching around Jakes kitchen.

"Shit, why the hell would you keep a frying pan there? I swear to god this place is a death trap" A voice that sounded mysteriously like a certain loud mouthed 4'11 platinum blonde annoyance exclaimed in exasperation.

Jake questioningly looked at her "What are you talkin about Annie I didn't hear

 WHACK

Jolting awake, Annie blinked the veil of haziness from her eyes and raised her hand up to her mouth. Only to discover the whole right side of her face was caked in drool. Looking up she sought out the source of the noise only to see her door thrown open and the intruder of her dream standing there, "What the heck Parker? How did you get in my house?"

"Well sweet cheeks, Tan Tan gave me the spare so I could check on you and make sure you weren't withering away from starvation" Parker grinned cheekily and flounced himself down on top of her. "Wow, Annie after a nap is not a pretty sight. Is that drool?" he squinted at her and shot his hand out toward her face only to have it smacked away harshly and glared at icily.

Sighing, she got up out of bed and headed down the small hallway towards the kitchen "Parker, why are you here exactly?"

"Like I said, to make sure you're not dead yet and also I'm bored. Ray's working and I'm lonely."

Turning on the stove, Parker grabbed the frying pan off of the floor and got out the ingredients for toasted cheese and began making what he hoped would be an edible sandwich. Annie hopped up and sat on the counter across from the stove and watched the fairy like boy stumble his way around her cramped and disorganized kitchen. Five minutes later, a ticked off blond and chuckling brunette sat down at a café styled table off of the kitchen to a plate of gooey and burnt toasted cheese sandwiches.

"This is why Ray is in charge of food. Stop laughing, it's not like you could do any better than me" Parker seethed and got up "where are the take out menus, I know you guys have like fifty of them. I don't plan on eating those hockey pucks." Laughing heartily, Annie got up and went to the living room table and grabbed the King Wong's No 1 menu and passed it off to an irritated Parker.

While waiting for the delivery boy to show up. Annie decided to tell Parker about the man she had met in the check out line at the grocery store. Which tuned out to be a mistake because the over-reactive blond man squealed and tackled her to the ground which was quite the feat considering he probably only weighed 90 pounds soaking wet.

"Holy shit! You actually talked to a guy, like a real live male specimen. Please tell me you didn't scare him off right? Like you didn't do the snorting/wheezing thing you do when you laugh really hard? Oooohhh my god! Your eye didn't twitch when you smiled did it? Because sometimes it does and it's kinda creepy, not gonna lie." Parker babbled on while staring at her with wide concerned eyes that were laced with humor but also with a sense of seriousness.

"First off I don't snort or wheeze." Annie huffed and touched near her eye, "and my eye certainly does not twitch when I smile!"

Parker's sly grin crept bigger, "Only sometimes when you smile really big, baby cakes."

"Parker....... you're annoying" Annie quipped as she headed towards the front door to let the delivery boy up after hearing the buzzer.

********

Parker finally having left after they finished gorging themselves on greasy Chinese food, a marathon of Gossip Girl, and continuous grins from the self-proclaimed king of fairies himself, Annie fed her cat Lord Darcy and began cleaning her cesspool of an apartment. She wouldn't even dare to look inside Tanya's room, knowing that if she did she would probably discover a collection of empty water bottles and various food containers, and a mountain of clothes that could put any teenage boy to shame.

Finished with cleaning, Annie decided to settle down for the night with a nice cup of chamomile tea and a good book, because once again her social life was spectacular. She had gotten to the part where Anne Elliot finally lays her eyes on her dear Captain Wentworth, with whom she had years ago been persuaded not to marry, when her cellphone buzzed beside her on her nightstand. Sighing, she put the random receipt she had been using as a bookmark for some time in the crevice of the book and closed it. She reached over to grab her cellphone, hoping that it wouldn't be some random singles that are ready to mingle in her area, but a certain handsome stranger. Typing in her pass code, Annie blinked at the screen seeing that it wasn't a message. No, it was a missed call and not from the one person she had hoped it might be, but from the one person she hadn't talked to in years. The one person who was supposed to love her no matter what, who was supposed to believe her and not whatever the local gossips concocted. The one person among many who she had hoped wouldn't condemn and reject her for what others had said she had done. Her sister.

Two updates in one day!? Damn I'm on a roll. Haha, but no seriously I just want to write this and be done. So there might be two updates in a day or maybe only once a week....... ( says the girl who updated a year and a half later). Trying my best here. Also I might get someone's name wrong while I'm writing..... like the sister. Seriously though I completely forgot her name, and the husband. Dammit.
