||Arins POV||
Well... We're at the adoption centre. My grip on Danny's hand had tightened and we both walked in. We had looked around and the place was wonderful, kids were running and they were laughing. I smiled at Danny and Danny smiled back. A lady had walked up to us and smiled.

"Hello! Are you here to adopt a child?"

"Y-yeah, we are"

I replied I was nervous. What if the child we adopt doesn't like us? What if he or she doesn't want us? These thoughts raced through my head and my heart started to beat faster.

"Here let's find a child that suits you best"

The lady led us to the room where mainly all the kids were at. Danny scanned the room.

"Wow look at them all"

Danny said in such a surprised voice, all these little kids were adorable.

"Look around as much as you like!"

The lady said and with that she walked off, letting us be. Danny and I were looking at all the kids, they were all so happy talking with their friends and laughing. I smiled and some kids started to notice us, they ran up to greet us.

"Hi mister! What's your name?"

This small boy asked, he had blonde hair and was wearing a jumper and track pants, I smiled brightly at him.

"My names Arin! And this is Daniel"

Everyone's eyes were shimmering followed by 'woahhh' and 'nice to meet yous' everyone started to talk to Danny and touch his hair, I giggled then looked around the room more. There was a small girl. She had short brown hair and was wearing a purple shirt followed by light blue jeans. She was sitting on a chair and was looking out the window, one of her arms supporting her head as she leaned in on her hand. I slowly started walking up to her, Danny still talking to the other kids. The little girl noticed me and looked.

"H-hello"

She says in a shy voice, she averted her gaze from me and I smiled.

"Hi, what's your name?"

She looks at me once again.

"Penny.. What is yours?"

"My names Arin, it's really nice to meet you"

I take a seat next to her and I lift my hand to shake hers, she hesitates but ends up shaking my hand anyways.
Her hand was so cold

"How long have you been here for?"

"4 years. My mum and dad abused me and I think one of the neighbours suspected something so my neighbour took custody and my parents were taken away, soon enough my neighbour got bored of me as well and started to treat me coldly, after a while she put me here"

My eyes were tearing up by now but I tried to hold my sobs in. I grabbed her hand.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that, how are things in here?"

She looks down and moves her hand away.

"I don't have any friends here, but I don't mind it. They don't do anything wrong to me, I'd rather stay alone any ways making friends causes trouble"

I looked at her with sadness in my eyes.

"How old are you?"

"10 years old"

I look at her and smile.

"Would you like to live with me and my husband?"

She looks at me, eyes wide and watery.

"R-really?"

"Of course! I really like you"

She smiles at me and I tell her I'll be right back. I go up to Danny and tell him about Penny, he goes up to her and introduces himself and they got along just as well. We decided to adopt her and after signing some things at the table and after Penny got her things, we left. We finally got back to the house and I grabbed Penny's things while Danny grabbed her hand. She smiled at the both of us and we walked in, we had a room for the child we were going to adopt since we didn't know if we were going to adopt a boy or girl, we made the room suitable for both a boy or girl. It had a game console, a white mirror, a single bed with cover colours as light blue with yellow spots a silver greyish curtain and a purple carpet.

She jumped on the bed and laughed and we laughed with her, we played games and did all sorts of fun things that night.I never thought I would make such a little kid so happy.
