Follow me in silence

“Ya. You, come. Now.”

At first the small boy didn’t respond at all. He knew that the older wouldn’t be talking to him. It was nearly impossible that someone so popular would be even considering his existence. He continued to look down at his manga in hopes of blending into the wall.

“I think he’s talking to you.” Jonghyun, his best friend, hissed from beside him.

“Aniyo hyung. He wouldn’t be.”

“Are you sure?”

“I mean he’s him and-”

“Chincha? Lee, I’m talking to you.” The boy nearly squeaked. Minho hadn’t spoken to him in- well, ever. Choi Minho had never given him the time of day before. He didn’t understand exactly what was happening. Minho sighed angrily. “Anyone home up there?”

“N-Ne!” His voice cracked and he wanted to slam his head against something. His first time speaking to Minho and he was doing things like that?

“Follow me, now.” Taemin looked to Jonghyun in terror and the elder shrugged. It was common knowledge that Minho often took people away from school to yell at them or more often than not, beat them up. He was a beyond strong, handsome and popular boy. He could turn small Taemin into dust with a single slap.

Minho began to walk away and then stopped without turning his head. “Well are you coming or not?”

“Ne! I’m right behind you!”

Taemin tried his best to keep up with the older boy’s long strides. It was difficult considering he was the type of kid who was picked last in gym class, meaning that he couldn’t move very fast. Awkward and small Lee Taemin. Such a stark contrast from the athletic godly creature Choi Minho.

They stopped at what seemed like miles away from the school. He had no idea where he was. He was completely in Minho’s control.

The sun came through the tree branches and cast a glow on the elder’s face. It made him realize exactly who Minho had always reminded him of.

A senpai from one of the manga’s he’d read.

He gulped slightly, adam’s apple bobbing.

“Don’t look so terrified. I didn’t bring you up here to kill you or something.”

“T-Then if you don’t mind me asking.. why did you bring me here?”

The elder coughed awkwardly. He hadn’t ever seen the great Choi Minho acting in such a way. Catching him during an awkward moment was something that was rare.

“There’s something that I have to say- I don’t want to- but I have to. So listen up because I’m not going to say it twice.”

“I’m listening.”

“Lately I’ve noticed you. You’re always just sitting there reading your manga or laughing with Jonghyun or doing something so damn annoying that I can’t breathe. And then I ask myself ‘how can one person be so freaking annoying?’ Then I realize it’s you and you’re capable of such.”

He didn’t know what to do. He had been correct: Minho was going to yell at him for a while. Once he got started it was difficult to stop him- or so he’d heard.

“And you’re always in the library at lunch reading instead of eating. Don’t you understand that you’re already really small? You’re sixteen but you’re the size of a ten year old.”

Did Minho really dislike him that much?

“Lee Taemin you idiot. You look like you’re going to cry but you haven’t even heard half of what I have to say.”
