Kati’s POV:
I walked through the front entrance, holding my script close to my side. Am I really sure I want to do this? I mean, this could determine the rest of my life. I take in a big breathe of air. I started jumping up and down to shake the nerves that are growing inside of me.
“Hi. I am Ashley and that’s my sister Kati Wence.” Ashley side in her sweet voice. The lady looked and jumped to her feet.
“Oh yes! Of course. Right this way.” She leads us to a hallway with a bunch of mystery doors.
"Yes she’s here.” I hear the lady talk into the walkie-talkie. Probably to Mrs. Helm.
“Bring her on down. We’ll be waiting.” I heard the lady on the other end respond. We followed the lady until we reached a hallway with a line of excited girls. They all gave me a mean look. I passed them all and went into the room. The grown-ups behind the table rose to their feet.
“Ah! Miss. Kati! We are so thrilled to have you here! Come on in,” the man said with a goofy smile. “Okay. Thank you for having me. I’m so pleased that you guys chose me over a lot of other girls.” I say with my Cheshire accent coming out thick.
“Something about you just… stood out to us. I’m Mrs. Helm and this is my ‘crew’, Garry, Lisa, Amanda, and Phil.” She states as she points to each person corresponding with the name.
“Nice to meet you! This is my sister, Ashley.” We all shake hands and Lisa told Ashley to go and sit in the chair along the wall.
“Let’s get started.” Phil instructs us all. “Kati, please turn to page 58 and start reading from the top of the page. You will be starring in the role of Cat, the nutty redhead. Can you pull off a semi-stupid dumb girl voice?”
“I can try.” I say believing in myself.
“Ok! Amanda you be Sam and I’ll be the extras.” Larry said. He handed me an extra script.
And we all begin.
Harry’s POV:
“Hey, Harry c’mon. We gotta practice for tomorrow.” I hear Liam snapping me out of my daydream. I can’t seem to get this girl off of my mind. She’s stuck!
“Okay, be out in a sec.” I tell him as I walk back to the men’s room. I go over to the sink and turn the water to as cold as it can get. I pull my face over the open area and begin to splash my face violently. That sure woke me up. I wipe the water off my face and return to the stage. We went through our list and I seemed back to normal.
“Alright guys. You have the rest of the day off. Go enjoy yourselves.” Paul tells us and we all get excited! We started talking about what we can do. Tomorrow is our last night in the U.S. so we wanted to do something fun!
“SIX FALGS!!!!” Niall says as he snaps his fingers.
“Yes! Oh my god yes!” Louis says. We all change and then hop in the van. We drive down to six flags and enjoy our time together. And the best part was is that nobody recognized us.
Kati’s POV:
I finish up my last line of my 15-minute rehearsal. It went… GREAT! They love it!
“Alright Miss. Kati. You are fantastic. I’m sorry but we still do have 800 girls to look at. But I promise that we will call you as soon as we finish!” She looked straight at me and I just nod. Ashley stands up and interjects.
“How long will it be until we know?” She says with her finger up.
“Ummmm… about 7-14 months. We have to fly in people from all around the world. But we might finish early.” Mrs. Helms states as she has a sympathetic look in her eyes. What?! That long? I felt a lump in my throat. Ok. Breath Kati breathe.
“O-Ok.” Is all I manage to get out. They lady that led us to the room also led us back to the front entrance. Ashley and I walk to the car in silence. We were half way through the drive when she spoke up.
“It might not be that bad. I mean come on Kati! They loved you for crying out loud! You obviously got the roll!” Ashley says with hope in her voice. I hope she’s right.
Harry’s POV:
The boys and I just finished with our excursion to Six Flags.
“Who ever knew that CALIFORNIA could hold all of this?” Zayn stated. “I mean I hate amusement parks but this was actually fun!” The rest of us just agreed.
“Well boys, its 4 hours earlier here than over in New York. Lets get some rest even though it’s only 9:00pm here.” Liam says while looking at his watch. We all nod and head to our bunks.
“Night boys,” Louis says as he flicks the light switch to off.
I just lay in my bed awake, scared that I would dream about the mystery girl. I managed not to think about her all day but lying in bed gave me a lot of time to think. I take a deep breath and closed my eyes. I feel into a deep sleep, and didn’t dream of anything.
Kati’s POV:
We pulled up to the hotel and a worker took the car to the resident parking for us. Devin met me at the entrance and took our shopping bags. He grabbed the one out of my hand and in the process kissed my cheek. Butterflies erupted in my stomach. No guy has ever made me feel this way.
“Hello beautiful.” Hey whispers in my hear.
My breath hitched, “H-hey Devin.” I say while twirling a piece of my hair around my index finger. He changed my mood from depressed and droopy to happy and smiley. Wow. I think I’m falling for him. Hard.
He brings the bags to the elevator and right when the door is about to close, he reaches his arm in to stop it.
“Oh, ummmmmm. Kati?” He said while rubbing the back of his neck.
“Yes, Devin?” I say a little confused but knowing what’s coming.
“Okay so would you like to go on a date with me tonight?” He says sort of rushed but I managed to hear clearly.
“Of course! Meet me in the lobby at 8.” I say smiling uncontroably.
“Yes. Of course. Until then.” He takes my hand and kisses the back. I can’t help but blush. He steps back and the door closes. I had totally forgot that my sister was in the elevator with me.
“Oh yay! I get to help you get ready!” She says while clapping her hands rapidly together. I just laugh. I just start thinking about what just happened. It starts over powering my thoughts and I just giggle to myself. I feel like a schoolgirl with a new crush. I like it. :)
