Nabahi ran into her apartment, slamming the door shut, and collapsed on her bed, crying.
Why are you doing this? I thought we were happy. I thought you were happy. Did you lie to me? Bobby's words ran through her head, she had broken up with him tonight. She was happy with him, she didn't lie to him, but she had too many things to worry about, and her past was slowly coming back to haunt her. Nabahi wouldn't take a chance of Bobby getting hurt....
Two months later:
There's only one girl, one girl Who could play all the strings of my heart Just like a guitar
the lyrics of Guitar by Varsity FanClub played in Bobby's ears, while he waited for his latte to come up. He quickly changes the song, before he can remember her or that night, but it was too late. Bobby closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Nabahi had broken up with him two months ago, but he couldn't forget her. She hadn't even given him a reason as to why.
After being handed his latte he turns around and bumps into somebody, spilling his drink all over them. "Sorry." Bobby says, taking his headphones out of his ears and he looks at the girl he had run into. "Nabahi?" Bobby says, surprised, finding the girl to be her.
"Hi Jayk." Nabahi says, just as surprised as he is.
"How you been?" bobby asks.
"I've been fine. You?" Nabahi replies.
"I've been good." Bobby lies. He didn't want her to know how messed up he'd been since they broke up.
"Hey..um can we maybe meet up later? I need to talk you." Nabahi says.
"Sure. I guess." Bobby replies, confusion in his voice, "When and where?"
"The pond at the park around 6?" Nabahi says. Bobby nods his head and heads to the bathroom to clean up a bit. What could she possibly want to talk about? Does she want to get back together? Should we? I love her, but I can't bare another break up if we do. Bobby thinks to himself.
The Pond 6pm:
"You came." Nabahi says, as Bobby walks up to her by the pond. "I was scared you wouldn't."
"I almost didn't come." Bobby says, not looking at her.
"I wouldn't blame you." Nabahi says, "I want to talk to you, about that night two months ago."
"Why?"
"I want to explain why I did what I did."
"Why did you?"
"You remember that ex I told you about?" Nabahi starts, Bobby slowly nods his head, "He got out and came back for me. I didn't want to take a chance of you getting hurt."
"Where is he now?" Bobby asks.
"Back in jail." Nabahi says.
"Why did you want to tell me now?" Bobby asks, pain in his voice.
"I've missed you. I want to be yours again. You're the only one who could play all the strings of my heart like a guitar." Nabahi says, quoting Guitars by Varsity Fanclub. It had been her and Bobby's song.
"I"ve missed you too, but what if he gets out and come backs again?" Bobby asks, "Are you going to break up with me again? I can't take another break up."
"Bobby, I promise I won't do it again." Nabahi says, "It was dumb of me, but at the time it-" Bobby cut her off, kissing her, and she kisses back, throwing her arms around his neck.
"I love you." Bobby says. Nabahi smiles and leans her head on his chest. This is where she belonged, with him, with Bobby.
