The Princess in Me

Chapter 1

Present Day

"Haley get out of bed! We are leaving for Kaelan in 20 minutes!" My sister Jenna yelled into my room.

I shot out of bed and got ready really quickly. I have been waiting for this day for so long. We are going to the tropical island of Kaelan which is off the coast of France and Spain. It is a bit bigger than the size of a Hawaiian island. I am so excited. I ran down the stairs with my bag trailing behind me and threw it into the car we are taking to the airport. When running back into the house to grab a pop tart I nearly slipped on the rug that was on the floor.

"Don't fall now," my mom told me, "you don't want to break anything when you're about to go on vacation!"

"I know mom." I said cheerfully as I popped my breakfast into the coaster. I'm such a clutz sometimes.

"So we are leaving in a few minutes Haley. Make sure to grab something to eat."

"That's what I'm doing right now." I responded. I quickly ate my pop tarts and started heading out to the car. I jumped into the backseat and was the first out of my siblings to get there. My dad was sitting in the passenger seat with his hat over his eyes snoring. I left out a chuckle.

"What are you laughing, huh?" He said from behind his hat.

"Oh, nothing dad. I was just admiring how you can literally pass out anywhere with no effort at all. Even with all the commotion going on right now."

I heard my mom yell for my brother and sister to hurry up and get to the car now. Before we knew it everyone had made it into the car. My mom started doing the final checks to make sure we had everything for the trip. "Ryan do you have everything? Toothbrush, clothes, iPhone, chargers..."

"Yes I do mom." My brother said lazily. He looked tired. He was not a morning person.

"What about you Jenna?"

"I have everything Mom." Jenna replied.

"And you Haley?"

"Yes I packed everything. My phone, clothes, hair stuff... Everything." I said really fast. "What about you mom and dad? Did you pack everything?" I was just so excited for this vacation. Normally I and not the hyperactive but I've been waiting for this trip for a long time!

"Yes we did honey. Now let's get on the road to the airport and get this vacation started!" My mom said cheerfully.

Yes! Finally we are taking a vacation from this freezing city of Superior, Wisconsin. I always look forward to going on vacation every year. This city can get boring and in the summer. It can still be very cold, so I am excited about feeling the warmth of the sun at the beach.

The trip to Kaelan was very long and when we finally got here everyone was tired. We decided to just go check into the hotel and check in then wait until later on to do anything. Everyone wanted to settle in and take a nap before doing anything.

We walked up to the suite and when we opened the door all I saw was blue. I could see straight shot view of the crystal clear blue Mediterranean Sea. The view was amazing. All I wanted to do was go out and walk on the beach right now. I set my bags down next to the bed I claimed to myself. We had a joined room suite that had 2 queen sized bed and a couch bed and then a door that led to another room which had another queen size bed that my parents claimed for themselves already. It was a beautiful room. I sat down on the bed I chose and looked out the big window that showed the ocean. "Hey mom?" I asked. "Can I just go out and walk on the beach. I am not very tired." I wasn't because I slept a lot on the plane here.
