I was watching Hotel Transylvania the other day, and I realised how much Ariel and Mavis have in common.
They both fell in love with humans, and it was sort of forbidden. They both had overprotective Fathers, except Drac didn't have that much of an anger problem, and they're both immortal. (Mermaids are immortal. Read the original fairy tale of the Little Mermaid and see what the Grandmother says)
The only difference is, Mavis is a vampire, Ariel is a mermaid. And Triton wasn't so 'buddy-buddy' with Eric. I don't think they ever interacted. And Triton wasn't so good at dancing. Oh! And they both have children! Well, Ariel is the only Disney Princess to have a child (Descendants doesn't count cause it isn't in the earlier days)
