Chris Chamber's Fanfic-"Chamber's Kid"

Chapter 6

After what seemed like forever, it was finally time for last hour. You walked toward Mr. Nelson's classroom, ready to see Chris. Once you got into the classroom you noticed that he was already in the class waiting for you. He was sitting in the back of the classroom as you walked toward him.

"Hey Cas." He said when you were approaching him. "I saved you a seat." He added while he pointed at the desk next him. 

"Aww thanks." You said as you took a seat. "Sooo, Chris... I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry about what happened earlier. Is everything okay? Did you straighten everything out with the principle?" You then asked after you settled into your desk. 

"Yeah... but do you think he believed me? Who would believe a low-life Chambers kid anyway? My family has a reputation in this town." He said and then paused for a moment. "Everybody just thinks of me the way they think of my family." He finally spilled out. 

"What do you mean Chris? How do people think of your family? I'm sure it can't be that bad." You replied, confused. 

"They're known as the trouble makers of this town and everyone expects me to be just like them... but I'm not." Chris explained.

"I had no idea, I'm so sorry. I thought it was really sweet of you for standing up for me today, you seem nothing like a trouble maker." You said. 

"A lot of people would beg to differ." He replied. 

"Wait, so what did the principle say to you then?" You asked after a long pause. 

"He just gave me an after school detention, no biggy." He said, trying to play it cool. 

"WHAT?!" You said in shock. "I'm just gonna have to the principles office myself to straighten things up!" You added, completely upset. 

"No, no it's fine. You don't have to do that, it too late now." He said. 

"Are you sure Chris? I feel really bad." You asked, just to make sure. 

"Yeah, it's okay. This wouldn't be the first time." He replied as the bell rang and class had begun. You were just so shocked you couldn't even pay attention.
