Machate woke in a damp and dark cell. There was barely any light except a sliver on the ground.
" Zayne!" He shouted. Where was she? He thought.
" Machate? Are you awake?" She said weakly. Machate immediately turned his head. Lying on the floor was Zayne. There was a dirty rag supposedly a bandage on her arm. That must be were they wounded her arm. Since it was soaked with dark crimson blood.
" Are you alright?" Machate asked. He reached down to her side. " Let me see." He knelt down and looked at her.
" Machate, I need you to meet someone."
" Is this Machate?" A voice boomed behind him. Machate sharp in reflexes punched the voice.
" Machate!" Zayne yelled.
" You little brat." The voice grumbled. This person was a tall girl. She looked about the same age as Machate. She had dark hair that was curly and her skin was tanned. She wore a red dress with bits of other different color garments. Her face had an exotic beauty and looked familiar.
" Who are you!" Machate yelled.
" First of all. I am friend not foe. If I didn't help your wounded friend over there she would be long gone. Second, my name is Riona." Riona, that name. It sounded familiar. Machate slowly approached her.
" What are you doing here?"
" I can't stay here for long. Machate I know you. Remember me from Xynnar? I was friends with Caspian. My Tribe visited your village for trades. Look, I helped Zayne. I brought her a bandage and nursed her for all I could." That was it! Her personality seemed so close.
" Why did you stop visiting then?"
"My Father the Alpha of the Tribe has become cruel and has a thirst for blood. I convinced him not to feast on you two. Machate I saw your brown hair and your face. You look so much like him!" She shed a tear before talking again. " Is Caspian alright? I want to know deeply and I care for him." Machate from the mention of Caspian started sniffling. He brought up the courage to answer her.
" He's gone."
