Lost It All

I walked around camp for awhile and watched as people dragged bodies to the fire, Andrea stayed next to her sister as she laid there bitten. I felt so sorry, not saying anything to the group about what was going on in the woods.

"You look deep in thought, something on your mind?" Glen asked.

I shook my head and stared at the fire from last night.

It's all my fault.

It's my fault everyone died last night.

Glen probably noticed me still deep in thought and waved his hand in front of my face, "Are you sure you have nothing on your mind."

I nodded and sat down on one of the logs I was sitting on last night before the attack, I noticed that one of the people in camp was acting very slow. One of the ladies working with him whispered something to him and she shook her head. She reacted very quckly, then yelled,

"He was bit!"

Everyone in camped stopped what they were doing, and looked towards the man who was putting his hands up.

"I wasn't. I-"

That's when Daryl went up behind him, and put the man's hands behind his back so Rick could pull up his shirt. A bite mark was left where the zombie had bit the man.

"I'm alright. I'm alright."

From the look on everyone's face, no one was alright.

"Can you help me with this?" T-Dog asked as we pulled over to let Jim, I finally knew his name, out so we can move on somewhere else.

I nodded and grabbed the bucket from him and watched as people lined up to say goodbye to Jim, and I started to watch towards Carol who was walking back down the hill from where Jim sat.

"Here," Carol said to me, "let me take this and I'll clean it when we get some water."

I nodded and she took the bucket from me, then walked to the car. I walked up the hill behind Glenn and he turned to look at me. He gave me a small smile and walked away, along with Dale and Andrea. As Rick finished up what he was saying, he turned to me and put a hand on my shoulder, then walked away. Smiling at Jim, he gave me a small when then leaned his head back.

"I know I didn't know you that well Jim," I started to say, "but how you are right now is how my friend and brother died."

He lowered his head and said, "I'm sorry. I just wished that I had the guts to tell everyone earlier so I wouldn't be in this condition."

I began to feel tears seep from my eyes, I wiped them away and we continues to talk for what seemed like forever since I met him only maybe a week ago. That's when Rick called from the bottom of the hill so we could go. I turned back towards Jim, and held his hand.

"I'm sorry for you being like this again, but hopefully we survive." I whispered to him.

He gave me a slight nod, and I stood up then walked back to the group. Carol came to me and gave me a hug while I cried into her shoulder.

"It's alright. We'll be alright." She said quietly, only for me to hear.

I left go of her and walked towards Daryl, who I was riding with earlier, and he started at me intensely. Opening the door to his truck I got in and closed the door beside me, resting my head on it.

By the time Daryl got in I knew we were leaving. He got in and stared at me one more time before turning the truck on and waiting for Dale to move so all of us could head on down the road.

Looking out the window, I began to feel tears on the brims of my eyes as Jim waved goodbye to everyone. Facing towards the road again, I swear I heard Daryl say,

'I'm sorry.'

"Where are we?" I asked Daryl as we pulled up next to a large building.

"CDC." He answered quickly.

I really have no idea what that is. I dropped out of school at a young age.

12.

My parents never really cared, just mostly about my brother and how is life was more successful than mine. I hated them so much, so when zombies basically took over, I left as quick as I could, but stayed long enough to see my parents being eating my them.

"Lets go." Daryl said to me as he got out.

We walked towards the building, Daryl standing protectively in front of me, as we got closer to the building it got more darker and everyone was beginning to freak out.

"Honey, we have to go." Lori said to Rick as she held Carl so close to her.

That's when I saw a walker, Daryl must have been looking in my direction because he took his bow off his back and shot the walker right in the head.

"We can't stay near the city after dark!" Lori yelled at Rick again.

Rick started to realize what was happening, then turned towards us to walk away when he looked back and yelled,

"It moved! The camera, it moved."

Shane looked at him confused, as was everyone else. Shane then walked up to Rick and grabbed his arm.

"Man, everyone in there is dead." He said

Rick started to bang on the door, I think, and started to scream, "You're inhuman! You're inhuman for leaving us out here!"

Daryl gripped on to my arm and faced me, he could tell that there was fear in my eyes, so he held onto me tighter.

"Get behin' me." He said.

I did what he told me to and I could still hear Rick, Shane and Lori arguing whether to leave or stay and see if someone would open up for us.

Then that's what happened.

The door opened, with a bright like, looking like heaven, guided the way.
