Chapter three. Questions and answers

Looking up from her menu my mom asks if I'm ready to order or if I'd want some more time to thing about it knowing I wanted the chicken Caesar wrap with fries. I simply nodded yes as my mom still pondered on her own order.

" mom? Are you going to tell me what happened or am I always going to be in the dark?" I placed my menu down and looked over towards her as she did the same either finally decided what to eat or answering my question.

"You did say you would tell me and I've waited long enough!" She had a sad lonely look in her eyes as she went to open her mouth either to tell me or to reprimand me I wasn't sure which considering Caiden decided at that precise moment he needed to come over.

"Ladies are we ready to order or would you like a few more seconds?" His baby blue eyes pierced into mine mesmerizing me literally time felt like it had stood still. The world floated around us and disappeared into a beautiful meadow full of Lillie's and roses my two favorite flowers. Looking around as if in slow motion I looked back towards him.

He held out his hand beckoning me, nodding with his head to take it. Slowly raising my hand to meet his I gently placed it within his grasp. The moment our hands touched my body warmed and felt alive. It was as if our touch sent little electrical charges shot up and down my body warming all the right places.

He slowly pulled me closer towards his body the more mine felt like I was on fire but a good fire the kind where I wanted to rip his clothes of and see just what was underneath these inconvenient clothes.

He ran his fingers in a trail up past my hips slowly across my stomach coming to a near halt as his hand caressed and toyed with my breasts. His fingers made a sizzling trail up my neck cupping my head in his hand. Shivers ran down my spine in anticipation for what's to come as his face leaned towards mine. Just as our lips were to meet, his face turned and he whispered in my ear.

"You my dear are mine and only mine no other man shall ever lay even a finger upon you. Know this my dear sweet Lilly" with those words whispered reality came back into focus and my mom was snapping her fingers in my face trying to get my attention.

Looking at Caiden he seemed just as surprised as I was at what just transpired. Looking at my mom I smiled and said "what?" Like nothing had happened.

"You spaced for like 5minutes I put my order in and this poor boy has been waiting for you to say something!" My mother stated like I knew what had happened and was aware I had spaced. Or well whatever that was it was just plain weird and odd.

Looking back at Caiden I noticed he was looking me up and down nodding with a smirk slowly making its way back on that flawless face of his.

"I'll have the chicken Caesar wrap please with fries extra crispy!" It looks as if he's disbelieving that's what I truly want. As if I'm going to order a salad because he's here? Nope I'm a girl that eats and I happen to love wraps especially chicken Caesar wraps I almost always order them when they are available.

" that's what you want? Good to know your not one of those salad girls I wouldn't be able to live forever with one of those." With that being said he walked off and left me confused and wondering what he was talking about and without being able to confront him I let it go.

Turning back towards mom and pushing Caiden from my mind which was a task mind you. I noticed she was fidgeting with her hands and not looking at me.

"Okay I've put this off long enough you really want to know what happened? Your father was abusive he simply hated the fact that I got pregnant with you before he ended things, you see he was done with me but I had gotten pregnant with you and before I could tell him the happy news he broke up with me. He told me he couldn't stand my presence and just was in it for the sex. Now that almost broke me but I had to remember you and I knew he'd be a great father. When I told him he became absolutely horrified and demanded to get a DNA test done to make sure. I didn't see your father till 9months or so later when you came into this world. He never asked for one which was weird but the moment he held you I saw I was right you were the sparkle in his eyes and he named you Lila because you reminded him of his mother Lilly. It was great for the first few months he married me just to save face and then the fights happened everytime I'd ask to go somewhere or do something I was hit or told no. I hid the marks and he was careful never to hurt me or raise his temper around you but he would give me this look and I knew I was in for it. Darling your father loves you very much it's me who disappointed him."

She had such a sad and haunted look in her eyes it made me want to cry this woman had stayed with a man who abused and neglected her all for my sake! If I had known I'd never have wanted her to stay ever. I remember back when dad told me she was in tears. Why would she be crying? Unless she in some way loved him and thought she would change him and make him love her in return?

"I wish I would have known momma I would never have made you stay with him for you to have to deal with that for 18 years is so hard and unfair to you I'm so sorry." I got up and hugged her knowing we both needed it and needless to say we both broke out in tears. Looking at each other we laughed as I went to sit down she grabbed my hand.

"It's okay sweetie were better off now and I've finally stopped loving the asshole and we will have a wonderful life here now maybe you can see why we've moved her and in such a small town too? We will make friends quickly and all will be good I promise my little sugar pie!!" I smiled as she said that she hasn't called me sugar pie since I was little.

Caiden came with our food and he made sure not to look me in the eyes I found that odd considering when our eyes did meet we had this weird thing happen.. At least on my end not sure about his.

The wrap was absolutely delicious and I had to eat it all it was just so good and I was just so hungry. I devoured the entire plate I couldn't help myself it was too good to waste!! My mother seemed to think the same thing as her plate was cleared as well and we both usually always have leftovers. Caiden then came back with a bemused smirk on his face eyeing both our plates.

"I take it you ladies enjoyed it?" For some reason he seemed proud that we both cleared our plates and enjoyed our food so much. Taking our dirty dishes and placing them on the tray he went to leave.

"Please do give compliments to the chef it was absolutely mouth watering so delicious I can guarantee we will frequent here for sure." My mother boasted just before he left.

"Thank you ill be sure to let my mom know you love her food that much." My moms eyes widened and she looked a bit surprised at the revelation he gave and to be honest I was as well.
