Elodie’s POV
It had been a fun night. They knew how to drink and kept up fairly well. Especially the Leprechaun. Those Irish really know how to drink. I’d started out talking with Curls, testing to see if he was serious about his girlfriend. Turns out he was. What a shame. Also turns out the drummer I’d thought was attractive has a girlfriend. Bummer again. I’d finally settled on talking with the guy from the opening band. Michael or something. He seemed nice enough but he wasn’t really my type. Which is why I pulled the guitar guy onto the dance floor with me. He sucked. For being so into music, he had no rhythm when it came to dancing. I excused myself to the bathroom to give myself an excuse to leave and ended up running into Mr. Polite. And it was like I hit a god-damn wall. That boy is solid. And when he wasn’t glaring, he actually was decently attractive. Or at least with a decent buzz he was. It was a quick decision, but I decided he’d be the one for tonight. He’d be leaving soon so I wouldn’t even have to worry about awkward run-ins at clubs in the future. And he seemed all for it, until he pussied out. Right when we were getting to the good part. I was practically screaming at him to finish what he started, but I didn’t. I left the bathroom and rejoined the group. If I’d had more time, I’d probably have been able to get Michael away and had a little fun with him. But Mr. Responsibility hadn’t drank responsibly tonight. He was trashed and their security decided it was time to go. And that’s when the fun began.
I felt bad for him. That’s why I did it. Mr. Responsibility, being caught drunk? Mr. Polite becoming a front-page tabloid as an underage drinker in America? It wouldn’t sit right for his fans. So I did the only thing I could think of to pull the attention away from him. I did something outrageous. Marcus would be pissed that’s for sure, but I really didn’t care what he thought. I’d do what I want, like always. Granted, now I’d probably be spending the next couple weeks getting kicked out of some boarding school somewhere. Meh, I’d done it before, I’d do it again. When we get back, I immediately head to my room, not wanting to hear the replay of my actions when the boy’s security tells my own. I assume the others will make sure Mr. Polite gets back to his room alright. They seemed like they all took care of each other. At least I was back by 2. I hadn’t broken one of the rules. I fall onto my bed, asleep in seconds. I had no regrets over what I’d done. I just hoped I wasn’t woken too early when I was shipped off again.
Liam’s POV
I was up half the night tossing and turning. I couldn’t sleep. The room was still spinning and when I squeezed my eyes tightly shut, it just made it worse. Like I was on a ship being pitched around in the middle of a hurricane. Even after the feeling of nausea started to fade, I couldn’t stop the thoughts swimming around in my head. Why had she done it? Was it merely for attention? To prove that, even being surrounded by the world’s biggest boy band, she could have all the attention on her? Or was it something different? A twisting feeling in my gut told me it was more than that. That she’d seen my stumble and was saving me from a front-page tabloid. But why would she do that? It didn’t make sense. She didn’t care about anyone but herself. I’d figured that out before we’d even met. She was her own number one priority. Yet she had saved me…I’d have to thank her for it tomorrow. Maybe Niall was right. Maybe there was more than meet’s the eye.
“Hey, do you know where Elodie is?” I ask again. This was the third person I’d stopped since I’d woken up, hoping someone might be able to tell me how to find her.
“Sorry,” the person says with a shrug, before continuing on. I let out an exasperated sigh, turning to look for another person.
“Varshitha!” I call when I see a young girl pass by another hallway. Her head whips around and a smile of delight stretches across her face when she sees me. “Do you know where Elodie is?” Her face immediately falls and her smile turns to a frown.
